The theme of the Hobbit is open to your interpretation. Challenge begins now and closing date for completed entries will be midnight GMT on January 31st 2013 Rules 1. The terrain piece can be any size. NO SIZE RESTRICTION Scratch built and pre built pieces are acceptable. Your entry must have provision for miniatures to be used on it after all it is wargaming terrain. How you do this for your prefered game system is up to you. If you are unsure as to whether something will be eligible for entry, just post asking or PM me and I will let you know whether or not you may use it. 2. Proof Pics - I understand that taking proof pictures for this type of challenge could prove difficult as a picture of a pile of materials is not much good. Instead 3 Work in progress pictures MUST be submitted at some point through the challenge. You can submit these 3 pictures along with your completed entry pictures at the end of the challenge if you so wish or at any point up to that. When you submit them is up to you. 3. You may join the challenge at any time, but must submit photographs of your completed piece by midnight GMT of January 31st 2013. There is no limit to the maximum amount of WIP pictures you can submit the more the better. A maximum of 5 photos of your completed entry please, this allows for pictures of your completed terrain piece from multiple angles. 4. Entries that are completed in time will be eligible to win the challenge. The challenge winner will be decided by the vote of the OR community. The community will choose one winner and one runner-up from the completed entries. Votes should be cast not simply on painting skill, but on merit, including creativity, attention to detail, and techniques. Good luck to all and above all Have fun!!!! |

Hmmm this sounds very, very tempting. However, I'm planning on (re)building Helms Deep in a few weeks, so not sure if I'll get enough time to construct something Hobbit related..but we shall see. Might be able to squeeze something in. |

Well with end of term on it's way, and the Hobbit almost out in cinema's I'll probably try my hand at building something from Dale or the Dwarven realms. Looking forward to this. |

Awesome! I might actually have the time to do it too, since it will run for 2 months. Hm.. what shall I make.. It might be a good excuse to start Goblin town. |

Finish your Dwarf Mine!!! (I think a separate level sould count as a piece of terrain, though in the end it's DMS' call). |

Haha, if the deadline would be in 2 years rather than 2 months, I would continue working on it for this comp! |
