Thought I'd get this up early so we're all set for November. What would you like to paint for the November Challenge.

Warband for me. Gotta make a dent in the backlog before the new December minis.

I voted Moria, I'm far too slow of a painter to paint an entire war-band

Voted 'warband' - nicely generic, so that everybody could participate!

I fancy a warband of Rivendell Knights!

To get rid of the rust and dust... warband :)

I went for warbands... If I can muster Rohan I'll be doing Theadon, Eowyn and some warriors of rohan

I haven't entered for a while... is this challenge 2 months aswell or is that just the sculpting one? A whole warband is a bit of a lot for me in just a month :dizzy:

Ditto SidTheSloth,

If we could start now it would give us the time to really pull out all the stops on this one?

I've just started painting a small Rohan force so warband works well for me. By the time i finish my riders I'll be ready to start the infantry, just in time for November 1 kick off :)

8 in a month? yeah i can do that. I think....

None of these really suit my painting plans but I've voted for warband as I've just about got 8 unpainted Thorin's Company models left.

The fact I'm painting these dwarf heroes at a rate of about 1 a fortnight makes it somewhat unlikely I'll get 8 done in a month but there's no harm in trying!

Don't suppose there's any numbers discount for painting an all hero warband is there DMS?!?!? :-D

I voted for Warband, not sure yet if I’ll go for a Rohan or Goblin Town Warband.

Am I right in thinking they can already be undercoated for the proof picture?

Does it have to be a game-legal warband? For example may I paint 8 Dwarves from the free people's rulebook but have the hero be from Thorin's company? Same race just different army list

If and when warbands win the poll i'll incorporate an option to paint a 4 hero warband. any good?

It does not have to be a game legal warband

Any good? That's like the best news ever! :D

It'll still be a mad struggle at my rate to get 4 done but that's far more achievable!

Thanks as ever DMS for all the effort you put into what must be a fairly thankless task but is one of the primary reasons I love this forum so much. Your hard work is very much appreciated :yay:

I am totally in favor of Warband!
I have either Rangers of Middle Earth or Mahud to decide on.
Have to kick off of my winter painting season!

If you are on the fence, I have barely seen any Mahud painted, and it would be great to see your take on them?

Bilbo,

There are some photos on my profile page under recent images, along with Half Trolls. I will take some better photos for the challenge.

My goal is to have the entire Mahud Wartribe painted up for WOTR!

I don't need a homogeneous look, so I am going to mix the palate up some.

2. To enter the painting challenge, the miniature you are painting must not be painted before starting and picture proof must be shown of the miniatures 'pre-painted' (unprimed, undercoated or if you are repainting and old miniature - in its' original paint scheme) otherwise your entry will not be eligible.

The way I read it is no paint whatsoever, which is a sad because my entire backlog has a black undercoat.
