Post subject: | September/October Challenge: Bill the Pony |
Greetings, everyone. There was no poll for the miniature this month, so Kev said I get to pick. When the lunatics run the asylum you end up with: errr....or something. If you do not have a Bill the Pony laying around, feel free to substitute: 1) A hero mounted on a pony, 2) Any mounted Hero, 3) Pictures of your sister's My Little Pony collection (but only if you re-paint them, of course!) 1. To enter the painting challenge, the miniature(s) you are painting must not be painted before starting and picture proof must be shown of the miniature "pre-painted" (unprimed, undercoated or if you are repainting and old miniature - in its' original paint scheme) otherwise your entry will not be eligible. 2. You may join the painting challenge in progress at any time, but must submit photographs of the completed miniature by midnight GMT of October 31st 2015. WIP images are welcomed and encouraged. A maximum of 8 photos of your completed entries please, this allows you to show your miniatures off from front, back and each side which is more than enough. If you would like to compile more than 8 pictures into one file it is ok to do that Pictures of completed models must be submit using a third party hosting site such as Photobucket or Imageshack. Pictures submitted by attachment will not be eligible for the vote. If you have any problems, please PM me. 3. Miniatures that are completed in time will be eligible to win the challenge. The challenge winner will be decided by the vote of the OR community. Votes should be cast not simply on painting skill, but on merit, including creativity, application of painting techniques, artist improvement, etc. There is no prize available for the winners of this challenge, the challenge is solely for community participation and as an incentive for people to reduce their backlog and improve their painting skills. 4. With the introduction of The League, Winners from the previous month are now eligible to enter and win consecutive challenges without penalty. Good luck and have fun! |

May I do 2 proof pictures? I am doing a custom mounted model and I have the mount but am awaiting the rider to arrive via mail. My plan is to paint them both separately or else I may not have time to finish the piece before the end of the month |

I think that sounds like a great idea. We haven't had time to do a poll for this month anyway. So....Keep on working this challenge, folks! |

I don't have an unpainted Bill the Pony, so I will attempt a mounted hero instead. An undercoated Glorfindel mounted on Bill the Horse. |

hmmm I have a Dwarf king on Donkey that I made over ten years ago that could do with a bit of restoration to use as an objective marker, seems like a reasonable goal for this month |

Hi, I thought I could not be able to finish my entry in time, but yesterday night and today I've been painting and at last I have finished my Azog mounted. I know it's not like the Little Poney, this is more sinister... Good luck to everybody. |
