Welcome to the February Painting Challenge thread. This months topic is

THE DWARF HOLDS

Image

NOTE - This is a single miniature challenge!

1. To enter the painting challenge, the miniature you are painting must not be painted before starting and picture proof must be shown of the miniature 'pre-painted' (unprimed, undercoated or if you are repainting and old miniature - in its' original paint scheme) otherwise your entry will not be eligible.

2. You may join the painting challenge in progress at any time, but must submit photographs of the completed miniature by midnight GMT of February 28th 2017. WIP images are welcomed and encouraged. A maximum of 6 photos of your completed entries please, this allows you to show your miniatures off from front, back and each side which is more than enough. If you would like to compile more than 8 pictures into one file it is ok to do that

Pictures of completed models must be submit using a third party hosting site such as photobucket or imageshack. Pictures submit by attachment will not be eligible for the vote. Any problems PM me.

3. Miniatures that are completed in time will be eligible to win the challenge. The challenge winner will be decided by the vote of the OR community. Votes should be cast not simply on painting skill, but on merit, including creativity, application of painting techniques, artist improvement, etc. There is no prize available for the winners of this challenge, the challenge is solely for community participation and as an incentive for people to reduce their backlog and improve their painting skills.

4. With the introduction of The League, Winners from the previous month are now eligible to enter and win consecutive challenges without penalty.

Good luck and have fun!

If I can get my half-done Bofur finished soon, then I can start work on a new Dwarf for this months challenge! So far, Bofur is giving me problems though...

I hope I have a dwarf so I can enter... :/ Might have an old dwarf ballista team unfinished.

Hopefully Bofur doesn't give me too many problems.

I'm hoping to give him a bit more colour/texture variety based off of some concept art for the film.

Not sure if they'll end up good enough but quite possibly one of those could become my entry.

Here are the three dwarves I finished this week.

I just noticed I forgot to make a WIP picture of Thorin, so he won't be my submission though. Probably Gimli. :)

I got so inspired that I blasted through him in almost one session. Some touching up and basing today. First painted dwarf for my collection :D Now Im so tempted to paint some Khazad guard to go with him. Must resist and finish those Arnors and Dunedains first...
