I'm practicing Space Marine armour painting to paint my Space Hulk terminators. Here are three different techniques I tried:

They have varying levels of contrast and I've tried to find a technique that would allow me to paint all of the terminators (eight regular guys and four 'characters') in a few painting sessions. I'm not going to paint them all individually even though they would actually deserve that, so a quick batch painting method will be needed.

I don't play 40k, but painting these guys was so much fun that I'll probably buy some more Space Marines just for the fun of it.

I chose the first one to be used on the terminators. The second is OK too, but has more edge highlights and was a pain to paint without looking any better than the first one. The third has definitely too little contrast.
