Iv'e seen a lot of skeletons in my time in this hobby, most use 'dis-colouration' on the bones or 'weathering', but that ia the cleanest colouration I have seen on bones, and you know what...it looks a thousand times better. You have the shadows and shading discreet and perfect !!!

Thanks for all the comments on the skellie so far, not much left to do to it now barring the base and a few touch ups so here is the mini as it is at the moment.

Again, very nice Tim! The brighter colours on this fella make a nice difference from the skeletons I usually see :)

Finally got this one finished and am pretty pleased with the end result. I finally decided to put a bit of weathering on the cloak and a little on the bottom of the clothing,

My next models will be continuing with the orks for CiN and also one or two Lotr Dwarf Rangers.

Tim, could you do me a small favor? Write us an "how to paint metallics" article!

Great skeleton model. Not too fond on the red cape myself, I personally find it a bit unsuitable for an undead skeleton. On the other hand the turqoise looks great.

Thanks Jake, well after painting two of the dreadful plastic dwarves I wanted something of better quality to paint so I decided i would paint the Spyglass monk figure next. So far he has been alot of fun to paint.

I wasn't sure what colour to do the robe, I know I didn't want the typical brown robe for the monk so thought the green on the Lotr Dwarves is working well I would use it here too. I like it so far I hope you do too.

Are you sure that monk is not just that evil character (The Hood) from the original Gerry Anderson 'Thunderbirds' disguised with a beard?

Alright, I am showing my age a bit...

I really like that sculpt, and the painting is (as ever), stunning.

Cheers guys, I hadn't noticed the similarity between the monk and the hood from Thunderbirds and yes I used to watch it religiously when I was a lad, the model is from Spyglass mate and is one of many very nice sculpts by the talented Steve Buddle. Anyway here are some more pics of him after a little more work.

Shouldn't be long before he is done and now I have found them again once he is done I will be going back to 40k Orks.

I suggest sending him a box full of prepped mouse-traps...

Man, it just gets better and better. You make me sick Tim...

Thanks guys, well this mini is now done, though I may go back at some point and just adjust one or two things I am not totally happy with but for now that is that. This is actually the first of Steve's sculpts that I have painted but it definitely won't be the last.

I decided to give him a little shadow to his head and upper lip just to show that he has been up a while, the base is a rather nice one from Tins Bits and i think came out ok. This is my first real go with the new Citadel washes on the metal areas and also alot of the base work was done with them. The blood drops on the base were done with the washes to start and then finished with inks to make them a little shiny as I wanted the blood drops to look fairly recently deposited.

Hope you like it.
