One Ring Dice

I'd certainly like some to go with my TLA dice.

I'd prefer the symbol to go on the 6 as otherwise I'd get easily confused as the latest TLA dice also have the symbol on the 6.

No, no great detail. I sent Joseph (rep from Chessex) a picture of the Red Book of Westmarch and he copied the design. So it is just finely engraved.

With huge forces of both Rohan and Isengard I like the white hand and horsey. In fact I like all the ones you mocked up. I am a sucker for dice, so would buy all the different ones that you did regardless of the pic - provided that it goes on the six side though. I've just weeded out all my 'pic on the one' dice in my collection in favour of the opposite.

Well, after just 24 hours it sounds like there's enough interest to look further into this and come up with some kind of plan.

Dave, I appreciate your offer very much, and thanks for the link to that site - I was going to ask you for it anyway if this kicked off. I've contacted them and we'll see what kind of prices we're looking at for it.

We're not in the same kind of league as TLA when it comes to the kind of volumes we would sell, but neither are we in as much need financially.

I know that GW have done some very nice dice in the past, but they are out of production these days and sad old dice-a-holics like me can't get them!

Looking at the detail on that dice.co.uk site, it would seem they can pretty much do anything! That image of the Tower Bridge is extremely detailed. Oh, and I like the idea of doing two different colours - heroes and troops - with the same design.

Righto, I have contacted the UK dice site that Hithero mentioned and it looks like we're in business! I will produce a design or two in the next couple of days and show it here for everyone's comments and feedback (I'll do a poll), and then start taking pre-orders to gauge the amount of interest.

We will do two colours in this run, both with the same design (on the 6) and sell them in packs of 8 dice (all of one colour). They will be 16mm dice, the same size as the GW and TLA ones .

Good idea. Subtle reference to the one ring, goes with any faction, very thematic.
3 sets please :-)

Multiple colors are nice too.

Since this is an engraving process, not full colour printing, it might be difficult to do the One Ring I'm afraid.

I'll try and see how it goes.

Pu the engravings where the 1 normally is. This way that side weighs less and you have more chances of rolling a 6

this is a great idea! i like the idea of a ring but it doesnt look as good, and the eye is much simpler. the white hand idea was good aswell maybee even a tree?
Also i think te pic shoould go where the 1 normally is just to keep it the same as the GW one as everyone is used to them now.

Well, I got an email back from the dice guys a minute ago and the One Ring design can be used on a dice. They sent me a picture of a sample they cut to test it and it came out really well.

NOTE: The dice is just a test - the finals won't be this colour.

I do beleive it replaces the 6, not the 1.
