New stuff!

This time I'm working on a knights templar. This is sort of a side project to my gates of Moria diorama. I felt like starting something historical again.

Very nice, very realistic, I am not sold on the blue eyes yet but when they are completed I'll bet they'll look just fine.

Tunic is coming along. I'm going for that realistic, dirty look as of a knight who has actually been to the crusade for years.
, mud and blood stains to be expected!

Oh and the miniature is 54 mm.

This is another of the fantastic Andrea historical figures. They do some film-based version as well.

Lovely! I like the skin tone on the face.

Cant wait to see this one finished, looking promising.

I ought to get myself some 54mm scale models, not sure where to get some though. Dont want to buy online, and being in Australia they arent that easy to find.

Good work,

KJ Necromancer

The skin tones have an oil-painted look to them. You've achieved something amazing there Kris - the sculpture is going to be a masterpiece when it's finished!

Thanks guys! Through this miniature I've managed to find insipiration I haven't felt in years, I'm just so excited to keep painting it! You might have noticed I've changed my style somewhat, I'm going for a more 'art'-like look from now on (Alan was on to it). I'm greatly inspired by some of the masters at coolminiornot.com, this is what you'll be seeing from me from now on ^^

Dorth, this is actually Balian from Kingdom of Heaven, so it too is based on a film!

KJ, I live in Sweden, thats like the north pole of europe, it was a pain to get models sent here, so I bet you can do it too ;)

One small baby step at a time.

White is a very tough paint to work with, but it sure is a good challenge!

That Maximus mini is excellent! I recognised him straight away without reading the top bit. Brilliant job and keep up the good work!

Excellent work on the templar, Kris. I painted an Andrea Miniature for my father last year and it was a joy to do. The miniature itself was very nicely executed, and it was refreshing to work with a different scale with more detail.

Keep up the good work!

Had alot of time to paint this easter, so I cheated on my diorama and finished my 54 mm knight templar. I just need to complete the scenic base I have constructed for it before submitting it to the hard critique of coolminiornot (they're wolves, never submit before making a proper base or they'll rip it apart!)
