I probably won't be able to update with pictures whilst Xmas which is when I'll be getting a new camera, unless i manage to borrow someone's camera.

Hope you like them,
Mike. :D

Great paint jobs! I like how you did the metal and cloth. My only problem is that some of the cloth is a little too clean.....looks like they just swapped it from a Minas Tirith noble. Stippling some mud/blood on the cloth would make it look a lot better, in my opinion. Other than that, great job! 8)

Ironically I'm working on these very ones at present. I have some in my gallery.

They seem to be coming on nicely. Good pallette and they have that roguish Orc hue to them.

I would say the Shadow Grey hasn't seemed to work for me, it seems to have come out too blue. Perhaps if you used Chaos Black and Codex Grey to highlight ???

Keep up the good work 8)

If you want to put dirt on the cloth then do this;

Drybrush bestial brown or snakebite leather on the rim of the cloth.
The rim is the bottom of it btw.
Then mix bleached bone with the brown and drybrush that on.
And then finally drybrush just bleached bone on. It will make it look dirty and dusty.

I really like those orcs. Keep it up. :yay:

lightly go across it dry brushing snakebite leather.

Yeah they do,but it seems of late that thats how I'm starting to paint alot of models that should look dirty. At any rate,i like them like this.

I feel the same,so it's likely i won't be using shadow gery for highlighting black for a while. :P

Maybe going to pick up a Troll or a box of Haradrim or something today.

I'm not too keen on the Morannon Orc models from the pictures i've seen.does anyone have any painted pictures besides those painted by GW?

Cheers,
Mike.

Sorry i missed that the first time round, apologiez.
Anyway,skin:

Tallarn flesh
Badab black wash
highlight with Tallarn flesh leaving the 'stained' skin colour showing.

I hope that helps,i actually was just trying it out for the first time so I'm not sure if it would look as well on a larger area of skin.

Cheers,
Mike.

I would highly recommend getting Morranon orcs. I love them. The GW pictures of them don't do them justice. They are good fun. They have a sense of character to them, well in my opinion at least. I love their captains too.

You wanted to see some pics? Well here they are.
The cloth is a bit too red and isn't shaded too well, but I think I did an alright job on them.

EDIT: Sorry, the pics are a bit big so if an admin or something drops by, could you shrink them?

Nice painiting Hexter, they look great 8) Also, I agree with samoht, the Morannon Orcs are great models, they have great poses and I find then easier to paint than Mordor Orcs.

Also, great job on painting the Morannons samoht! you especially did a great job on the captain with the severed head on top of his

There was a justifiable reason to post the first ones, Hexter asked to see them, but I think posting more might kind of be making it Sahmot's finished army and not Hexter's WIP.

Or were you talking about Hexter's army-in-progress? :?

Either way, nice work Samoht, and Hexter, you should get some Morannon orcs! They're awesome to paint!

Hexter, were you planning on getting Morranon orcs?

Oh, and i'm not so sure about the blue, but the orcs skin that you've painted looks really nice!

Keep it up! :yay:

Where does it say Gondolin wanted them posted in this thread?
I don't think samoht would be stupid enough to clog Hexter's WIP up with his own finished miniatures.

@samoht - I will second Gondolin's opinion for more pics from you though, because those Morranon Orcs are fantastic! :yay:
