There was a justifiable reason to post the first ones, Hexter asked to see them, but I think posting more might kind of be making it Sahmot's finished army and not Hexter's WIP.

Natural assumption brought on by rushed conclusions because of B.H.T.G.O.C. Short for Brother Harassing To Get On Computer. :) Never mind, though.

Great work Hexter, keep it up!

@samoht - I will second Gondolin's opinion for more pics from you though, because those Morranon Orcs are fantastic!

I'd also like to see some more pics of the army, they'd provide some nice inspiration. 8)

I actually bought a box of them yesterday and already have 4 of them PIP.
I was pleasntly suprised at how much nicer the models are than the pics on the GW site. Thanks for the great advice guys! :yay:

Also,i forgot to post this the other day with the other pictures. It's my mounted Witchking that i painted, although I've still to fill the massive gaps on the fell beast. So god knows when I'll get around to painting that.

Anyway-Witchking:

He looks rather odd mounted on a paperclip, maybe they are the dark lords secret weapon?

If i remember correctly i first layered tha cloack with a mix of codex grey and chaos black although I'm uncertain of the ratio of the mix.
Then i highlighted with shadow grey followed by another highlight this time with Codex grey.
Finally i washed the whole thing with Badab black because the greys were too bright,in particular the shadow grey.

I hope that helps.

Anduril Blade of Kings-Thanks,glad you like him.

Tommorow I'll try to get some pics of my WIP Mordor and Morannon orcs and the Banner bearer and orc captain I converted.

Cheers,
Mike.

They are rather simple conversion, nothing flashy,so don't be expecting too much. 8)

I'm going to convert a Morannon orc captain and banner bearer too once i've had a good look at the remaining 12 left on my sprues and picked 2 i like enough to fill those roles.

Cheers,
Mike.

Hey! Nice conversions and paint jobs!

Are you considering using any blood red on those Morranon orc clothes?

I love the banner. Its look fabulous. How did you make it? . Is the banner bear gonna have a shield?

I notice that you use a lot of inks. Do you do any highlighting?

I do intend to highlight the Morannon orcs clothing with blood red, being the elite troops i think they deserve more than speedpainting like the regualr grunts, even if it is just and extra highlight or too.

Glad you like the banner. Its made from a paperclip ,a warhammer skeleton banner and the top is from the dark elf warrior banner.
I don't have a rulebook at the minute, can banner bearers not use shields?

I do,infact, use highlights in my painting. However i've found that as I'm expecting to have a lot of orcs and that they have less detail than thier warhammer counterparts that simple basecoats and washing will suffice for a decent standard.Plus its quick meaning i may actually finsh this army. :D
Here's an example of something I'm working on at the minute too-http://underempire.net/index.php?showtopic=29957
Scroll down a tad for the current pictures. 8)
(i hope this doesn't sound like a rant)

This is very simple:

Mechrite red
a nice generous wash of Badab black
Re-apply Mechrite red on all the raised areas, leaving the wash in the recesses and thus creating some shading.

If you want to expand on this a highlight of mechrite red mixed with blood red followed by a highlight of pure blood red would be a nice way to finish the clothes off.

Thanks for the comments guys, really appreciate it! :D

So you collect from all three ranges? I do LOTR and a little 40k, never tried the warhammer stuff.

Looking forward to the finished morannon orcs! :-D

Banner bearers can't carry anything else. It doesn't matter though, you just say that he counts as not having a shield.
