Been a while since I've done any serious hobbying but at least this week I forced myself to pick the brushes again and finish a mini I had half started.

Again, its a Andrea miniature, this time in 54mm, representing Conan. Really good sculpt, but not particularly easy to aseemble. Sorry, but there are no wip pictures this time, just the finished piece.

Hope you like it.

It's a fantastic sculpt and you've definitely done it justice! Brilliant painting MacG! Couldn't imagine seeing a better one, the skintones are brilliantly painted and very nicely blended. Yet another fantastic work of art 8)

Great sculpt of the mighty Cimmerian. I enjoy the books as Conan is so, err, direct in his approach, fiercely protective of women and undaunted by terrifying odds.
Beautiful painting and base work, Mister Mog!

Been ages since last time I did any hobbying but I'm finally getting in the mood again. Great, cause I sure have lots of minis that won't paint themselves.

Here's my current work in progress. Archaon, from GW Warhammer Fantasy range.

Image

No, I'm not sick. I do paint Warhammer every now and then and I actually have some 40k minis in queue.

... I still stand that Empire troops look like fancy ballerinas, though.

Looks great! I really like the fur. I assume it's NMM (has to be) on the armor. It looks really good as well :-D .

Looks great, Mac. I love the fur, and the red looks great as well. But... Warhammer? You've been chatting with, Doug too much.

Actually, he was a Games Day release of Archaon on foot, so is probably quite rare outside of ebay.

As for the Empire troops, you better hope we don't have any Swiss readers...

Looks very promising so far Mac.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

@Anduril: I'm not looking for an actual metallic look, but yes, it sort of looks like NMM. It's done the same way, really.

@FoF: I don't even have a very good or really expensive camera. It's a 3.2 megapixels Olympus Camedia c370. The trick is to read the manual. ;)
Really, I use the macro function and take my photos about 7-10 cm from the mini, against a white background, with a steady base so that the pic doesnt look like an earthquake shot. That's pretty much it.

Time to update. Been working a bit in the flaming sword and its proving tricky... Its's not finished and I hope to make it look a bit better.
Also started the skulls and did a lot of work in the armour, mostly trying to make it smoother.

More tomorrow, or so I hope.

The flame effect is simply amazing, Mac. I see you also began work on the skulls and horns as well, both areas look very good so far. Be sure to update soon, Mac. :)

Nothing big today. Just a small update, really.

Just glued the shield in place and, of course, had to paint the inside before that. I forgot to take a pic and now it really doesnt show now, but it was painted to look like wood. design is just basecoated at the moment... hopefully I'll manage to make it look like metal.

I realised I never showed the back, so here it is a pic too.

Ugh - Warhammer alert!

Very, very well painted... in fact I almost forgive you for it.

Now, go paint another marvellous LotR figure!

It's update time!

Just working on the shield design. Tough deal to paint suck a large area in NMM. Needs fine tunning and the spike thingy in the center will probably be repainted in blue, but I like the way its coming out. What do you think?
