I like my soldiers nicely lined up in my closet. So i was thinking about buying movement trays. But i actually don't play war on the ring so i don't really need those. I tought about alternatives like making a small box or something.
I had plastic boxes ideal to store figures because they fitted in groups of 8 only problem of the box was that it misses the good height.
For anything getting to high because of his weapons ,... it would cause problems.
I was thinking about making cardboard boxes but i am not so sure about that..
So i was wondering if anyone had some alternatives maybe one of you guys figures something out for himself like that.
I tried making movement trays once but it was not really easy to make - it was kinda bigger and the figs didn't fit in well..

Any idea's?

I use box files which are extremely cheap and strong. If you want you can tape or glue in strips of card/foamcore to keep each row seperate for more protection.

hmm reminds me that i can use shoe boxes to do the same thing. ty

I wanted to put some see trough plastic before it but it was to blury , so i left it like this.
To small for everything
but it's already better then just all lose standing figures.

That doesn't look very sturdy, but I'm not one to speak.

I recently put all my miniatures in a big pile into a shoe box in preparation for moving off to college - probably not a good idea.

It's ok if they are all plastic or metal, but mixing the two in a shoebox never ends well.

For storage I bought some cheap plastic shelves that sit on the floor and go up 4 tiers (this was about $5) - works perfectly.

This is just for storage. I wish it was something nicer lol; but it will do for now. I can make a better one later . I would like a good bigger one out of wood lol. For the metal figures - they don't get transported in this. I got metal boxes for that. And magnets under the metal ones. First idea was to put magnets under all figures but i seemed to run out of magnets very very very fast...

Hmm what I did was to take a mooncake box (tall enough for most figures), and cut a piece of cardboard to fit the base of the box nicely. Then i cut one-inch holes in the bottom so the figures could fit snugly and not fall out when upside down.
Its real easy, no magnets/blue tack whatever, and is easily transportable as well. I'll see if I can get pictures.
For taller figures like banner bearers/cavalry I have a nice box filled with foam where I can just lie them in between two layers.

Some pictures will be nice.
And how do you cut the holes with a cutter or something special?
- And mooncake box i didn't know what it is - so i searched on the net it looks like something japanese or chinese.. Is that correct? Never seen something like that in stores.
I do have one terribly good metal cookie box to store figures in but the bigger ones like gandalf can't fit in. And i need magnets. But for the rest it's the best box i have. The other cookie box is high enough but not so good-. the edges are round.

Yeah a mooncake box can be replaced with any other nice sized box, it just happens that its about right for me.

I just drew around the bases, and used a normal razor blade to cut it out.
