So i was tossing around a few ideas in my head and this is what I came up with:

Thranduil's Halls
Stormcaller - 60
8 WE w/ elf bow and spear - 80
17 WE w/ spear - 136
7 WE w/ elf blade and throwing daggers - 70
3 WE Sentinels - 75
Erebor
Gimli- 90
Shiledbearer- 60
16 Dwarf Warriors w/shield - 144
11 Dwarf Warriors w/bow - 99
6 Iron Guard - 90
Fellowship
Legolas w/armour - 95

999 points, 72 models, 22 bows + 3 shots, 8 might

My idea was to use the dwarves as a shield wall and use the elves as spear support but also to shoot form behind the shield wall, while the dwarf bowmen would shoot from the flank(due to their higher defense) Then use the Iron Guard and some elves with spears to protect the flanks, and the Sentinels to annoy. And keeping the Stormcaller behind the lines till the right moment and then unleashing nature's wrath.

It would be a slow moving army, but pretty deadly I think.

What do you guys think?

It looks like a pretty good army. You'll have to be careful with the stormcaller though as one sap will and he will be almost useless.

I think that there is one model that will sumpremly counter your list.

The Shadow Lord

he will neutralise your shooting (well thee things that you would like to shoot at would be covered...)
he will sap will your stormcaller
he will transfix gimli (and if one a fell beast could easily kill him), and same for legolas

but, your list has 1 salvation, legolas's auto hit, but if that fails to kill him then your gonna have a real hard time

Your really hoping that your archery works out as even some terrain could ruin your day.

but really, if any nazgul gets to your line mounted on anything, then your in for a world of trouble as you have no counter except for legolas....

ok and really, your whole plan seems to be shooting your opponent as much as possible, so what will you do if that fails?

on a high note, I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad that you have a shield bearer, as your the first person i have seen use him
do you know what your going up against?? im really eager to see how your list goes (mostly how the shield bearer goes)

Very good point about the shadow lord. I may have to think of a way to modify the list to counter that possibility. Though the high defense front line and spear support should do pretty well against most armies.

I have no idea who i am playing and this list will probably not be made for a while as I am just planning on getting the dwarves and exploring the possibilities. The shieldbearer looks really useful both to fight with Gimli and to help once the army is broken. Once I get around to playing this list I will tell you how it goes.

I don't think the Shadow Lord will be too much of a problem: your army doesn't have to, and shouldn't, rely on shooting, as it should be fine in the Fight phase.

Yeah, one of the main ideas, was to use the high defense dwarves and give them something they were lacking. Namely spear support. This should give me enough to hold the line and then use the heros and elites to either flank, or protect the flank. The archers would mainly try to whittle down the numbers and prevent cavalry from getting too annoying. Seeing as my army will be slow moving and all.

The sentinels and stormcaller are there to be annoying and to be a menace to my enemy's plans.

you could take legolas from thranduils halls and then switch out the stormcaller for Eweyin(forgot how to spell her name!!!) and give her an elven cloak, that way she is protected from nazguls

You mean Arwen right? Yeah i reckon that would work quite well and only costs 5 points more.

Personally, I don't think that elves should be used as support, that way fight value 5 is painfully wasted. I'd also be tempted to swap the dwarf warriors with short bows for 10 rangers with longbow as they will have the same shooting range as the wood elves and will also make a handy D5 shield for the elves which is very useful in shooting-terms. I don't see the purpose of the shield bearer, if it's extra might you want, swap him for a captain and an extra guy or if you're feeling imaginative, a ballista.

Good point as always spuds. I like the idea of using a balllista, that could be fun. I have changed up the list, let me know what you think.

Thranduil's Halls
Stormcaller - 60
8 WE w/ elf bow and spear - 80
17 WE w/ spear - 136
7 WE w/ elf blade and throwing daggers - 70
3 WE Sentinels - 75
Erebor
Gimli- 90
16 Dwarf Warriors w/shield - 144
11 Dwarf Rangers w/bow - 110
4 Iron Guard - 60
1 Dwarf Ballista w/ 2 crewmen - 76
Fellowship
Legolas w/armour - 95

996 points, 73 models, 22 bows + 3 shots, 7 might

I thought that about the Galadhrim Guards (F6) but was convinced by those who know a lot more than me that it was not only a good thing, but historically accurate, eg: the Romans would put the new guys in front, supported by the vets. This allows you to keep a solid core even as you lose numbers.

For the latest list, since I loves me some throwing daggers, I suggest dropping 3 WE w/spears and giving the other 14 throwing daggers. This brings your model count to 70, but since the limit is 75, and you outclass most everything on the board, it shouldn't be a problem.

speaking of galadrim guards, i think that you should get some, all you need to do is take the stormcaller from the lothlorien list, and take legolas from thranduils halls list, then you can take 1-3 of them. imagine gimli with pike support :D
they are also really useful in general, if you have a model that is being ganked, then you send over pike support (assuming that there is already spear support, if not then you send them as well), the 3 attacks makes a regular model much more suvivable and deadly. and its really easy to pick who you support as they are free to wander around behind your battleline

Yeah the throwing weapons sound good as they give me another attack, which is nice and i dont lose many models. I cannot get galadhrim guards as lothlorien cannot ally with erebor. Here is the new list:

Thranduil's Halls
Stormcaller - 60
7 WE w/ elf bow and spear - 70
15 WE w/ spear and throwing weapon - 150
7 WE w/ elf blade and throwing daggers - 70
3 WE Sentinels - 75
Erebor
Gimli- 90
16 Dwarf Warriors w/shield - 144
11 Dwarf Rangers w/bow - 110
4 Iron Guard - 60
1 Dwarf Ballista w/ 2 crewmen - 76
Fellowship
Legolas w/armour - 95

1000 points, 70 models, 21 bows + 3 shots, 7 might

If it's simple support you want, just get MAAoDA, they are nearly twice as cheap and it would be insanely expensive points' wise to make a solid pike wall of GotGC. Just my 2 cents.

Men at Arms of Dol Amroth is what you mean, am I correct? I will look into that for future armies. A fiefdoms list could be fun to play, its just so expensive.

Yeah, Fiefdoms are also very fun to play against.
