Nice one Charlie. It will be nice to have some of the practical side of working with the blocks for myself (being selfish) as I am looking at getting some of these when I may have a moment or two longer to spend on the hobby (He wishes...)

You read my mind. :)
There are many attempts made to try to make a village, but there just a handful that I know of that did it.
It's not a little task, and takes months even years to get it done.
I make no promises that I get it don, but I gone try.
Next up a Barn, hope to get some wip picture up tomorrow or the next day.

Some small update on the Barn.

Roof structure and interior framing of door and window.
Image

Making the dormers and putting them on the roof shell.
Image

Beginning to glue the roof tiles on the roof shell (it’s a tedious job).

Until next time, Jan

Good job; I see it will take a while to finish the tiling of the roof :-) But it looks really good so i guess it's worth the time it takes .

Thanks Wouter.
I'm laying the tiles one by one, so i think in the end it gives a more believable roof surface. (I hope :) )

Well the results are very good :) it was worth ur hard work. - I noticed how a terrible work it is when doing tiles on my fort. But now i have met something more evil. I will have to ink - over 400 drawings, and there will be more :o . So no more painting for a while should be best if i want to finish this. But painting is so fun... i ll manage it somehow.... between it all.... i hope :)

Thanks guys.
Next up the interior and painting.

Has anyone a suggestion what for base the Barn sought have ??
(plane ground cover, pavement, on a low grassy hill, ……)
(I will place some objects around the Barn: crates, barrels and planks to spruce it up a bit).

Keep in mind that this will be integrated in a city scene. (that’s the plan in the long run).

Some kind of dirt with tracks of carriages? b4 it. To create the suggestion of loading and lossing of storage stuff. Or u can do a piece of long grass with farmy fences - for cattle. ,.....

That’s a sound construction, Jan!
But for a Rohan barn, with a history of probably several decades, if not ages, the wood is maybe looking a bit… undamaged. Maybe you can cut a few notches into some of the planks, and add a bigger hole somewhere between two of them? An odd plank, some bended nails, a reparation or two and a few minor injuries might give the barn a less sterile look, even before painting (they’re rough people, these Horse Masters, you know. No civilisation at all! Now Dwarves, on the contrary…)

Well done, so far! 8)
