Hello, I am an experianced SBG player and I have often been lurking these forums, but yesterday I came across a wierd rule while playing against Gondor in a friendly match. I had managed to isolate Denethor from the rest of the army and I was ready to kill him off the next turn. However, the next turn he failed his courage test and thus became an evil character. I couldn't charge him because the only exception to the eveil character rule is that he can't be shot or struck by Good warriors/heroes.

So my question is really: is this intended, is it a glitch or am I completly off course here?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: If anyone else has played with Denethor, how did you go about this issue?

Interesting question. I would say that he still counts as a good character who is being controlled by the evil player. Evil should still be able to charge and kill him. I had a look at the wording in the source book, and if you were to follow it literally then you would not be able to charge him at all. That being said, I am fairly confident that this is just an oversight on GW's part. This wouldn't be the first time they've made a mistake like this.

I've had a read and came to no definate conclusion, so play as you feel is correct. Personally I'd say no, he can't be charged by Evil forces as they would possibly assume he has changed sides.

We followed the rule literally, thus I couldn't charge him. This was kind of a bummer as I had been looking forward to killing him. But I personally think it was a mistake by GW. Allthough I absolutly see your point hithero. I can't really ask anyone at my local shop as I guess they are only making assumptions like us. Thanks anyways guys.

Never ask to GW employees most of them only play wotr if they even play lotr so most time they are just saying something.

He counts as a evil hero so I don't think you can charge him but you can still shoot him because you are evil :D

What would keep an evil character from committing an evil act?
Ugluk can take heads when it is necessary...
I'm not arguing against the letter of the rule, but the intention of the player and circumstances of the game should have an impact on game play.
