I'm loving everything about those dwarves; the colours work really well together, the bases are good, and they look great individually as well as in a group. Keep it up!! :yay:

PS. Those shields are pretty snazzy too.

Thanks for all kind words! I really enjoyed painting the dwarves, and hope to get some more sometime soon, and try a different color scheme.
I don't have to much more mini's to paint, at least for my WIP, as I will be painting a lot for the Paint me an Army WIP. I still have a few mini's that won't be painted for it though, mainly because I would like to spend a bit more time on them, or have already started them. So here are a few pics of what I have been working on.
First off, the KoDA hornblower.

Then I did some more work on Legolas.

That's all for now, but I will have some more updates soon(I hope) Enjoy!

Coming along nicely, your KOD looks great. The legolas is looking neat, what green did you use? Some lighter green with catchcan green?

Thanks! For the green, I used catachan green, and worked up to comoflauge green.

I have started painting several mini's, and haven't finished any of the ones I've started, and am about to start repainting my Easterling command. The big project that I've been working on though is a major conversion. I don't have any pics yet, but I can give you an idea of how it looks, and what it's going to be. It started out as a high elf warrior I found in my brothers box of bits and pieces, and his armor was almost completely worn away. So I decided to try to sculpt over it and reposition arms and head to make it into a new character. I am going to call him Eoth, the name of my brothers character in our little LotR game we used to play. He is supposed to be Gil-Galads son, and the new king of elves if I remember correctly. Si I have finished every thing except for the head, which I think I'll just use the high elf's head instead of making my own(I tried to make one, but I don't have enough practice or skill, or the right tools to get it right). I'll get pics up as soon as possible.

Okay, I finally got some pics of some of the mini's I'm working on! :D
First are some pics of some warg riders.

Then the Blackshields I got for Xmass.

Next I also got the Kings Champion, and here are some pics of the first standerd guy.

I'm not sure how to do the base though. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I also dicided to repainted Amdur, and here's how he turned out.
Image

sorry about the bad pick of the back, in person you can actually see the blending of the cloth, which is my favorite part of the mini.
And now we turn from painting to sculpting. Here are some pics of my elf, Eoth.

I unfortunately didn't get what sculpting in layers meant until after I had done the majority of the model, so it isn't as good as it could be. If anyone is wondering, the piece of brass rod is going to be a spear... hopefully. I have also made his head, but I don't really like it, but it'll have to work until my sculpting skills are a bit better. I'll try to get some pics of it sometime soon.
And last but not least(drum roll please)... An Ent!!
Image
It doesn't look so good now, but I've added a lot since I took the pic, and is almost done actually. I'll try to get some more pics of it as soon as possible.
Please comment, and I hope you like them!

I like ur painting on the gobs. Also that champion banner guy is painted well. (I hope u leave the ugly shield off ( i kinda hated it :-D)) Nice job on the easterling. Looking forward to that ent of urs :) I really need to make one myself :-D . Try not to rush it. U will see many weeks of tiny layers gives the best results! Also curious what will become of ur headless elf :-D Keep it up. :)

Thanks. I actually thought the shield is pretty cool. I think it's because of the big spike in the middle.

Well if u like it u should put it on. I found it ugly - but i only saw those Gw pictures. I peronally didn't like those figs. But that's only my opinion. So u could ignore it. :-D But who knows with good painiting. Reminds me of barbar and that guy with his fire bolt. Didn't like that one either or at least i hated that bolt. He turned it into something nice.

Okay, I've got a quick update now. Over the past few weeks I've been doing some cleaning and organizing, and have got my work area sorta clean, and I am going to try to work through all my unpainted mini's and finish them before I start on any other project. I don't have an "Official" list of the order on how I'm going to paint them yet, but it will probably be something like this:

1. Finish Knights of Dol Amroth.

2. Add the final touches to the dwarves and finish any unpainted dwarf.

3. Finish my goblins.

4. Repaint my Citadel guards with bows.

5. Finish my Morannon orcs.

6. Repaint or finish the Fellowship.

7. Get started on my Easterling army.

So that's the basic list of how it's going to go. I've probably forgotten a couple, but I'm sure I can find a place to squeeze them in. I will, however, be continuing on my ent as well, and I hope to have that finished in the next few months. I will probably be doing the Morannon orcs and goblins with community WIP, and everything else will be posted here. I also may be able to wright a few articles out of all this too.

So to start things off, here are some pics of my knights of Dol Amroth.
Image
I don't know if you can see in the pic, but there are several differences among them that can be seen. The first is that I decided to get rid of all the Champions designs, as I think it was a bit over the top, and really wasn't done very well at all. I do still plan on leaving all the designs on the horse though.
The second difference is the armor. The two regular warriors were painted slightly different than the previous four. Instead of using my regular silver, I decided to try a different paint from the Reaper Master Series that I've had for a few years now. And it worked very well imo. Here are some more pics of one of the riders in the new scheme.
Image
Image
As you can see, it turned out much smoother, and just a ton better. You can probably also see I decided to add a bit of gold to the chainmail, and did the gloves and boots in a different color too. The reason for this is because I thought they looked kinda boring in just blue, white, silver, and black, so I decided to add a bit more color to them. I think they look a ton better now.
Hope you guys like them!

Yeah, they haven't worked so well with me in the past, but I'm hoping it will go better this time round.

Yes, I've done a bit of work on him. He's getting near to being done, but I can't seem to get the legs right. Here are a few pics of it.

and here are some pics of my man-elf? I hate the face. It turned out pretty bad, but it was the best of all the faces I could come up with. I will be adding the weapons soon.

The knights of Dol Amroth are very close to being done too. I just need some more glue to glue the shields on the riders and the horses to their bases, and do the bases. Here is a pic of one of the horses so you can get an idea of what they look like.

Image

and since My birthday was this week, I got some more mini's from my family. So while I wait to get some glue, I decided to go ahead and start on the Castellans of Dol Guldor that my brother got me.

Nice painting. The face looks better when painted (the sculped face). I know how hard it is to sculpt a decent face. But the changes on the cloth are really nice. I think i caught up to u with my ent :) . I only need to sculpt some leaves. The bark of urs looks good - can't wait to see how he will look when u add branches. Keep it up.

ty, the painted face does look slightly better, but not by much. I think your ahead of me on your ent, but I need some more green stuff before I can finish him.

I have finished the base on the first castellan, and have started work on the next. I'll try to get some pics soon.

I think i put at least 1/4 of my pack of greenstuff in it already :!: I hope i got enough leftovers for my next project. But that might be a summer thing , or when i am more at ease. I was thinking about a horse and a wraith on it.
