KoMT with shield???

I was reading in my rulebook and then I saw that KoMT dont have shields in their base profile, and you cant buy them as extra equipment. I thought that my KoMT did have shields and they actually had them (and I didnt convert them

). Can anyone explain me how this is so, and do I give them a plus 1 defense?

You probably have an old rulebook. KoMT can be given a shield for one point just like a warrior on foot.

The only weird thing is that the box of KoMT I bought is older than my rulebook

. I bought my rulebook in december 2009. Is it already outdated?

It depends, is it the blue, large, hardback book (one ring rulebook I think)? In which case you're good. As long as your knights are plastic they are up to date.

I have a big blue hardback book that says "the Lord of the Rings strategy battle game" on the front. so I can just pay 1point more to get a shield and therfore add 1defense?

I just looked through my rulebook and noticed the same thing, im sure its a typo don't worry, you can give them shields

No, wait, sorry, my bad. The shields were introduced in Gondor in Flames.
