Well time to finally show you project that has been a highlight of preceding week ;) Little wedding gift for Viruk (I hope he won't mind me spilling the beans and even if...come on, it's been a week :D )

After I got minis from sculptor (who changed heads to custom made, basing on actuall photos of Mr.&Mrs. Viruk :D ) I had to wait 2 days for base, so I had to do all the work in 1 (one) day :D

Though I'm a bit dissapointed with Faller's foliage, looks just like regular sponge (sic!).

Simply lovely, Wiktor... I'm sure they'll love it :)

I've got to agree on the foliage though... seems kinda off

Time to dust this thread off :D

Lately I've been working on project for a client i.e whole Space Marines Army. So far there's about 30 guys, 3attack bikes, one rhino and two half finished land raiders done. All of the progress can be seen on Blog ;) Lately I've finished mentioned Rhino but I'll have to work on it once more cause client didn't like my vision and thought it's too close to junk than tank ;) Anyway here are the sample pics, more of it and more of whole project can be found on blog ;)

Very nice ultrasmurfs you've got there! Well done. If you are looking for a good SM forum bolter and chainsword is the best: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/
(Not slighting the guys on here) But good work 8)

I've had a look through this thread, your website, and your posts on CoolMiniOrNot, and I have to say that you are one of the best painters I've seen. However, in this case, I'd have to agree with your client; that tank looks like junk. Its not even close to as good as the rest of your work and the battle wear and tear is much too overdone.

I don't really have the right to judge your work, seeing as most of mine is only either tabletop standard or a little above (a poor camera doesn't do me any favors--I know, excuses, excuses  ), but I just thought I'd give you my two cents...

Excellent work Haldir. The bride and groom diorama is amazing and really well built. I'm not a fan of the rhino either, don't get me wrong the painting is brilliant and far beyond anything I could produce, but the amount of weathering is over the top (and perhaps looks a little flat too?). Still, great work and I look forward to seeing more.

Rhino is by far my most criticized piece of work :) We'll it's good actually. If there weren't any challanges they'd be no progress ;) I'm currently wraping my head around other approach to that mini. Meanwhile I almost finished last of remaining SM boltgun marines. Pics will be up tomorrow ;)

Indeed, without criticism there'd be no improvement (well there would but constructive criticism definitely speeds up the improvement process in my experience). Looking forward to seeing those marines and good luck with your new approach on the Rhino.

It's just that the rhino doesn't fit your painting style. The blue looks very flat and the weathering is a little bit overtopped. But i think some extreme highlight make it much better.

I love how you say on your blog you need to improve your nmm, and how its not that great.
I for one think that your nmm is awesome, and I know I couldn't do anything nearly as good without a lot of practice. Of course you can always improve by makeing your tranitions smoother, etc. But, you are definitely way beyond anything I could do right now. Now go paint some lotr figures. 8)
