Kataphrakts wargear a must?

I am planning to buy Kataphrakts in the future but I have to ask if you can make all of them normal, I know you can have one captain,one banner and one drummer but can you just make all of them normal? :oops:

The set comes with six sword arms, so I would assume that menas yes

The set comes with waaaaaaay more than 6 arm sets, you get tons of customisation!

I said 6 sword arms. I was not includin banner arms or drummer arms, or the arms of the corpses.

The set supposedly comes with 18 sets of arms...

I just had my set dropped off by UPS. I count 14 sword arms, 2 extra swords, 2 banner arms and 2 drummer torsos. There are also 8 "rider" bodies, but 2 of them essentially have to be drummers. Still though, with a little conversion work and some extra horses you could theoretically make 8 Kataphrakts out of the one box.

Assuming you had hold of an extra 2 horses.

I will be assembling 1 Captain, 1 Banner, 1 Drummer and 9 normal Kataphrakts. I will convert 2 or 3 Easterling archers into drummers, and use the Captain helmets and cloaks to convert the 3 metal Captains I already have.

Can the drum even be given to a foot model? I didn't see it in their listing... Could've missed it though.

In WotR they can. And in SBG what happens to the Kataphrakt Drummer when his horse dies.

Ah, right. I've never considered Easterlings in WoTR because I don't think I have enough models for it. It's a pity Easterlings can't get musicians in SBG though.

I have 7 or 8 boxes of Easterlings, excluding metal ones.

In SBG, just keep the Kataphrakt drummer with your footsoldiers, and be weary of archers.

Holy Devlan Mud! I think I managed to get three or four, which is enough for a decent sized SBG force. The distribution of weapons in the box just really bugged me.

The weapon distribution is one of the reasons I got more Easterlings than any other troop type I have. Some of the swordsman can become pikemen. Archers can become Dragon Knights, drummers and now (with the spare items in the new box) swordmen.
