I bought a bunch of these little fellas at Salute and have just finished painting this Champion figure.
I think these are some of the best Goblins i have seen for a while and hope to see more from Andy in the near future. I gave this one a slightly bigger base than what is normal for a fantasy fig of this size as I wanted to make the posing a little more dramatic, the base was nice to paint also but I cant for the life of me remember where I got it from I have a bag full of this style of base and they paint up really nice. This was also the first min painted since receiving my new glasses and things are now alot clearer when I am painting though some of the really fine stuff is still a challenge to see.

anyway enough rambling here are the pics and I hope you all like it.

I also think these would make great Moria Goblins as they are really quite small.

Thanks for looking guys.

Yeh I bought both champions at Salute as I plan to convert them into Orc Trackers for a bit of variety. Top PJ Tim although on a purely personal preference level I always find eyes without pupils a little odd.

I've not done a WIP thread for a long while and I hadn't intended to start this one but the images on screen give me a good idea of how the minis is turning out.

So far so good, not alot of "tweaking" to do as yet.

The folds on the jacket are so well highlighted and they are so realistic.

I have finished the model, not entirely happy with it but have had enough of the mini so here it is. On the whole the sculpt is ok some parts though were not sculpted too well either that or the casting was not great in either way it got to the point where I just wanted it finished and out of the way so I can move on to the next project.

The base is from Micro Art and I think this particular set of bases is one of my favourite in their range.

Fabulous as ever. My only critisicm would be that his right glove (holding the propeller) could use a bit more of a highlight for definition. I know it's very hard to get true black and yet have it highlighted so it has contrast without turning it into grey, but if its possible, you can do it. :yay:

Subpar sculpt or not, any sculptor should be honored to have you give it the "Tim Treatment©"

Fantastic work, as always.

Before Christmas I had an accident at work, I dislocated my ankel and fractured the Talus bone in my foot, I spent a short time in hospital and the past two months laying it up trying to get it mended so I can get back to work. Painting you would think would have been easy but no sitting at a table was very uncomfortable indeed. However these last couplew of days I have managed to get back at it for short periods, it is still a little uncomfortable but each day is getting a little easier. So here is a very early shot of what has got my attention at the moment.

Image

I love these RBG Trolls and have both of the current ones and am hoping that Tre does some more. I want a totally different skin tone to what I normally do and thus far am fairly happy with the result taking into account how long it has been since I last put brush to model. The face is about done, I have a little tidying and smoothing to do and maybe a sharp hoghlight here and there.
If I can manage to make the rest come up this way I will be very happy.

Excellent work so far Tim! I really like the skin tone you have decided to give this guy, it's different and you've executed it perfectly. I can't wait to see more.

Sorry to hear about your foot Tim, but I'm glad it's on the mend. And if it means you get time to paint then the world is a better place for it - I love your work and it's great to see you posting here again. The ogre is already looking terrific and it will no doubt end up being gob-smacking when it's finished!

Thanks guys, here is a close up of the face it shows the flaws in the work so far and the areas that I need to tidy up. Ive just ordered an optimiser to help me with painting as I struggle with close work now even with glasses.

Indeed. I too was looking for the so-called flaws. I still can't see 'em.

So... you can see flaws in that image. And you say you need new glasses... Can I have your old ones please?
