They tend to appear somewhat regularly on eBay; especially the Minas Tirith set.
A couple of years ago they'd go for around $200, even more sometimes. For some reason they don't seem to reach such high prices these days, even though you'd expect the opposite to hold.

Still, I want to get one or two more Minas Tirith sets to add to the one I have now.

The Helm's Deep set is quite good too, though it's a pity they didn't add a part of the Deeping Wall to it. Nothing a few Hirst Arts blocks can't fix though.

I've seen the Forgeworld Amon Sul set on eBay a couple of times. Always very expensive though.

I have a new unpainted "Breaking Of The Fellowship" box. This box is OOP and with arrival of finecast would it be worth anything?
Or is it to normal to be worth anything more than the retail price?

the breaking of the fellowship box set used to be worth a bit on ebay, but there has recently been a fair few up there so they only go for around £20 now. You could sell each of the figures for around £4 and then keep the best ones as imo they are the best looking versions of the fellowship- aragorn, legolas and gimli the most!

Not as much point in that as it has become common, though in finecast.

Entertaining thread... sorry for the the thread Necromancy but someone (who shall remain nameless) asked if the rumors were true that I had the Mahud with knife pose. I confirmed that I did... in fact I had three of them at one time. Before I knew how rare it really was, I cut one up and converted it for my Mahud army - you guys can get up off the floor now... This was back in 2008 when Harad was released and I had an acquantance that worked at the GW home office in Baltimore Maryland. He was able to get them for me after I searched about 3 dozen blisters looking for one. Back then, my objective was convert my armies so that all the poses were unique in some way... thus the cutting of the knife arm away from the model.

I don't have any great photos of these minis other than this one I grabbed off the GW site when my army was "featured" as part of the 2008 Las Vegas Grand Tournament.

I'm pretty sure I still have one unpainted metal version of this Mahud but I've never really thought about getting rid of him (I've always envisioned expanding my Mahud army).

I never named names....

However in my PM to this individual, I said that I was harboring much guilt on this topic. I have no intention of creating a bidding war for this model. Its also incredibly frustrating to know that if I made it available; someone else would be dissappointed. :sad:

Best off leaving all three of us sad I think.
