HEy, maybe somebody can help me with that problem: I'm looking for the name of the red in BGiME #3.
I thought it was Blood Red (Evil Sunz Scarlet) and bought it, but this is much lighter then the red in the pot was. Now I don't want to buy another expensive red, without knowing which one I should buy to get the same tone. Hope you can help me :)

I just had a flick through and as far as I can see the magazine never mentions the name of the paint, it just calls it 'red paint'. From sight I would have said it was the old Blood Red as that was a very common colour included in paint sets etc. back then (probably the most common shade of red) but if you've already ruled that out then I can't help I'm afraid.

Sorry to not be of more help

BGiME #19 told the GW names of the paints they had included in back issues and according to issue 19, their red was indeed Blood Red. The problem can be that the new paint "equivalence" table is not exact; GW has completely changed their paints and just chosen for the table the paint that they think is the closest to the old paint. There are many cases where the "closest" paint is actually quite different.

You might have better luck with Vallejo Game Color because they still correspond to the old GW colours. Their Bloody Red should be quite close.

Ah, ok. Thank you for that valpas! I left out #19 because it was only paints :D
I don't have it here right now, but I bought blood red when it was in the new pots, but still named Blood red I think. Anyway.. If I bought Khorne Red now and mix it with Blood Red (or Evil Sunz Scarlet) would the result be a red close to Red Gore/Wazdakka Red?

And if I might ask that too, since you seem to have the list: the flesh tone from BGiME #2 was Elf Flesh, right?

I have Khorne Red and it seems to be quite similar to old Red Gore or Mechrite Red. Maybe a bit darker than Red Gore. Since Khorne Red is a heavily pigmented base paint, you might do well to start from Blood Red and add a tiny bit of Khorne Red at a time until you get the right shade. You could also try to darken your Blood Red with any other dark red, or a bit of dark reddish brown paint like Dark Flesh or even dark green like Dark Angels Green (if you have such paints). Mixing paint is not really an exact science... :-)

The BGiME list is

- Goblin Green
- Chaos Black
- Mithril Silver
- Scorched Brown
- Enchanted Blue (looks more like Regal Blue in the pictures)
- Elf Flesh
- Shining Gold
- Skull White
- Blood Red
- Bad Moon Yellow

#19 included Red Gore, Bestial Brown and Dwarf Flesh but they were already using GW names for them.

There isn't a free option that I've found and I would prefer to spend my cash on the hobby than a photo app. I know I'm a skin flint but I suppose that's just the way I am. Thanks for your suggestion though.
