No, it doesn't bother me either, I just mentioned it as an example of the dangers of thinking too logically about how the rules work (or are supposed to work), after all, a horse is much smaller than a troll, but weighing in at half a ton it doesn't really need to have a rider to knock you over if it really wants to........

This is something that could have been addressed with the 'Expert Rider' rule.
Anyway...
You could declare a heroic fight with a hero monster (or a hero in the same fight as a friendly monster), hurl the victim down a line of troops and if he dies you can move again and attack the guys you just knocked over. You're burning might to do it, but in the right circumstances it could lead to your monster getting double strikes on a prone hero.
