Thanks mate for reporting a kitchen spammer (nasty vile creature urrgghhh worse than gollum )

He filed a report about him so he is now banned from the One Ring.

I would urge all members to follow his example and quickly reports posts of a dubious nature. We can then use our "boots of stamping" (sounds like something from munchkin) to sort it out as quickly as possible.

Kitchens have no place on a hobby forum !

What's the best way to do that? I would have reported it but there's no "report this post to a moderator" button, and didn't know who to PM, so I just gave up and bought a new kitchen.

There's a little red flag in the top right of the persons post next to the time, which I assume is the report button we should use.

Thanks for asking the question though as this will clarify if that is the correct use of it and who is the mod - something I wanted to know :)

What do you mean by 'filing a report'?

Sauron is big on kitchens. Allegedly :)
If wonder if Middle-earth spam ever appears on kitchen forums?

Reported, but the Dunedain had already apprehended the suspect.

Yes - the icon to click on is the red exclamation mark. It's not just for spammers but any post that makes you feel that a boundary has been crossed, be it language, unsuitable topic or anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.

The One Ring is a great place to be - so lets always keep it that way :-)

Is there the ability to prevent new members posting for a few hours if this guy keeps being a pest? Or something to discourage them from doing it over and over?

Provided members keep reporting spammers as Imrail did today and members don't click on their links then I'm sure we can keep these people off the One Ring.

Even the most persistent spammer can be deterred over time.

Constant Vigilance !

We've 'cooked up' a number of steps to counter the dreaded kitchen spammers and hopefully they will cut down on the number of posts we're getting.

But please remember the Image button and help us to put a halt to these evil kitchen planners.

Are they model kitchens?

It starts with a kitchen and the next thing you know you have a company of dwarves tossing around your mother's china.

That's what Bilbo Baggins hates..
