With that massive rabbit sleigh base you really have room to work on scenery and you've done a fantastic job :D
Well done :yay:

Update time. First is my Armored Glorfindel I entered into the June painting challenge. What a nice mini to paint. Really enjoyed this one.

Another UKFreddyBear conversion for me. I loved DMS's base for his so I tried to go for that look. Also this was my first attempt at OSL. I think it came out alright, but I have room to improve.

Last one for the evening I promise. Haldir's Elves Captain. I gave my arm and a portion of my leg to get this model on ebay, then a week or so ago, the two pack pops up again and I got it for about a third of the price. Oh well, I decided to paint this one with an alternate paint scheme. I will do the other one up in the standard blue and gold.

Wow, is there a paint guide on how you painted the lava? :o It looks absolutely stunning. I wouldn't dare touching that base for fear of getting burned.

Fantastic! All three of them!

And @Amarthadan: It's not exactly the same, but I found this very nice file the other day and guess it's quite helpful here as well :)

Hey thanks a lot guys for all the compliments. I really appreciate it!

@Amarthadan and Rognarr; with respect to the link that guide is awesome. I never knew that existed. That board is cat's pajamas. I may have to build a scaled down version of it!

I used the article here in the Tomes of Wisdom as a guide.
kb.php?a=38
That should link you to it.

With a slight exception though, when painting the lava (as outlined in the article) you want your brightest colors first, followed by progressively darker drybrushes to reproduce the cooling effects of lava in contact with the air etc. However, since the lava is the source of the light, the illumination should be the opposite. So I did a large area of red followed by progressively warmer colors as highlights over a smaller area and closer to the lava.

That article is first class. It goes through just about everything you can imagine for basing miniatures.

I love how the lava's heat is seen on the wraiths.

Thanks everybody!

Here is my first attempt at NMM. I followed the guide in the Tomes of Wisdom. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Looks good! There isn't much I'd change. If you like add a light stripe over the blade as kind of reflection. Just a slight touch lighter than the metal-tone you've used though.

Looks very nice Bill. Like Rognarr there doesn't appear much to change.

Don't know where to start? Brilliant lighting effect on the Nazgul, superb elves and nmm looks real.

Alright, OSL project here. I gave it a shot on an extra Gandalf model I had. I also did NMM on the sword.

Let me know what you think! Should I put it up on CMON?

Bill, the Gandalf is one of your best, it looks fantastic. The NMM needs more work but it isn't bad at all. The robes and hat are fantastic and the OSL is almost perfect, in fact I think it is perfect.
The simple scenery only adds to the excellent work you have done. I am truly impressed.

Yeah, I need more blending, I seem to run out of room quickly, and I need to get better at drawing a straight line.

Thanks for all the comments guys! You all rock! I put it up on CMON so if you get a chance feel free to vote!
