That's not a wooden log Paul its a cork :P Just jokin. Warg rider looks great based up. Azog is really well done, I like the rust on his shin guards particularly.

Radagast is looking great too. One suggestion is maybe highlight the facial features ie. bridge of nose, cheekbones and forehead just a touch lighter really help him to pop.

Great work here as usual.

Nice minis!
Bolt Action, you say? Any pics of them (it would have to go in a separate thread really)

Wip on the DOS fine cast spiders, they are identical, heated the legs individually to bend into the right position, I wanted them crawling over the logs. The bases have resin tree stumps, milliput to blend in, Metal leaves finished with flint, stones & gravel

Wow these look so good! The bending of the legs was a great idea, they look now very realistic and horrifying! How well do the legs support the bodies? Are the legs as fragile as they look? Those spiders are the best looking spider miniatures I've encountered so far, but I'm a bit worried they might break very easily!

Haven't seen anything from you in a while Paul ( I missed your update from a few days ago )
My word aren't these spooky, don't leave them anywhere you shouldn't or Mrs H will be screaming.
Very nice touch in bending the legs, not only do the look individual but you have bent them in an authentic manner that only adds to the realism. The one climbing over the rock is my favourite. I'm looking forward to the painting.

The spiders look really good. Any chance of a Bilbo side by side for a scale comparison?

Gunslinger - the legs are quite strong, surprisingly. I think the resin is more flexible than it used to be. I don't think they could have got the legs as thin with metal, well if they did it would break easy I guess.

Gandalf - lol, Mrs. H took one look and says she doesn't want to see them again! I'm worried about the dogs eating them!

Ellorindar - photo below, I have just undercoated them.

Now to start painting :-)

Spiders are looking scary! Are you going to put webs on their bases?

You've posed those legs really nicely. They look a LOT better than GW's assembly.

Cheers for the pic Paul. Having seen the film literally a few moments ago, these spiders are an amazing sculpt, although they appear to be missing the second 'internal' mouth parts that the film equivalents had. They were very creepy onscreen and

SPOILERS ALERT

the way that Bilbo began to hear the spiders talk in their own language when putting on the ring was both very effective and a good solution to the problem of having the spiders talk at all, since you don't every expect to have a conversation with a spider as Bilbo does in the book.

They were from The Troll Trader ebay shop, they are in Cornwall

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/TheTrollTrader

Had a look on their ebay store and couldn't see them, they are made by -

Micro Art Studio, Forest Bases, Round 25mm B00521 packed in 5s

Hope that helps

Sticky Fingersss - yes I M going to put a small amount of cobweb on, one of my dogs split his bed the other day, the stuffing is perfect!

Spider webs: now there is somrthing to which I have not given much thought. But they feature so heavily in TH amd LoTR... need something reasonably looking, durable, affordable.
I like the tree stumps!
I have some of these beasties to add variety to the Mirkwood Wide Web:

The spiders look much better that I would have expected from the website's pictures. The terrain background to your finely painted miniatures looks nice; would it be possible to show us some pictures of it?
