Guys just wanting to clarify when a model is trapped.

When a model loses combat it must back away 1". It must not contact an enemy model, but may enter their control zones. Nor may it across terrain etc...

What I am unsure about is if a model moves 1" away from the enemy models it was fighting, but at end of this 1" move, it is still within 1" of some of the models it was fighting, does it count trapped or not?

See example pic below...

So in above, man loses fight to orcs and can back away 1" to the left along the wall. This gets him 1" from orc2, but not 1" from orc1. So is the man counted as trapped or not?

Appreciate any thoughts.

Cheers
Scott

He's not trapped. He has to move 1", but he doesn't have to end up 1" away from all his opponents. Some people even allow the losing model to move around the winner by skirting the edge of the base. That seems against the spirit of the rule to me, so we have a loose house rule that requires the loser to move as close as possible to "directly away".

Many thanks, that's what I thought but wanted to double check we've been doing it right.
Cheers

just to be someone that's prodding if orc 1 was to the left a bit more he would be considered trapped.
