Hi guys just out of curiosity concerning Gamling....
I know his banner has the special rule of restoring might but is it classed as a normal banner to standard warriors to give the re roll in duelrolls?

Also a follow on question the rule book states that a banner can be passed to another warrior once the bannerman is dead, Is it auto assigned or would you leave a marker to define where it was left?

Yes it is a normal banner aswell and as far as I'm aware, hero banners cannot be picked up by normal warriors. So if Gamling dies, his banner is lost.

Normal banners can be picked up if a model is in base contact with the bannerman when he is slain. This cannot be done if the banner is in contact though.
