Hi All,

Always wanted to know, never found help from any sourcebook. When upgrading a Mumak to add a Beastmaster, what does the Beastmaster do besides be exposed to arrows and allow you to fit another archer on?

Better courage and more MWF, he is worth getting if you have the points to spend as he is a bit more reliable. His costs are balanced for what you get so the only downside might be the extra will that you get, but that is obviously necessary to prevent getting destroyed by magic.
Yes, it does suck that he is outside of the howdah. In the movies there would be no LOS, not sure how it works on the actual model, you could always convert so the head was up ;)

He's in the Fallen Realms sourcebook in the Mumak upgrades section.

His main boost is the increased Courage and Will, meaning the Mumak will rarely, if ever, stampede. This eliminates one of the main risks of using it and I think it is worth taking everytime at 500 points and above. :)

And dust off your Shadow Lord, mounted or on Fell, should points allow. Placed directly in front of the Mumak, the Shadow Lord base covers the Beastmaster base.

The driver is the single weakest chink in the armor of the Mumak. Without Might, it is soon bogged down and useless. Without high courage, it is dangerous to your own troops. Shadow Lord protects the Beastmaster from arrows, the main threat.

Invest in a horn, as well. Worth it, with so many points sunk into one model.

Wait so if someone wounds the mumak, only the chieftan takes a courage test for it?

And whats up with that what do you mean the base covers the beastmasters? Hes way too high up or it to matter no???
