Hello All,
Just wanted to check if i had this ruling correct - If Model A and Model B were in base contact with Model Z, they would share fight value as this is a multiple combat. But if Model B was supporting Model A with a spear they would both still contribute their attacks at their own fight values as this is not a multiple combat.
Is this correct? The rulebook defines multiple combats as "Fights where two or more models are fighting against one" (Page 43 of the rulebook) but this would be contradictory to what is written in the section about spears (Page 63) "A spear-armed model fighting in this way contributes a single attack to the fight at his own fight value and using his own strength".
If anybody could shed some light on this it would be appreciated.

In any circumstance you only use the highest FV for each side. The lower FV's are in essence ignored

So even if for example Boromir supported 1 warrior of minis tirith with a spear agaisnt an orc, and you roll a 5 and a 2 for the soldier, the fight value of 6 still holds true. This way, the orc needs a 6 to win the fight. Even if he rolled a 4 and beat the soldier, he still loses.

The fact the Orc didn't tie makes your example not rely on fight value LOTBR lol. If you have the same good side combatants facing a Uruk and Boromir rolled a 2 highest and the man and Uruk both roll 6's then the Good side wins as Boromir contributes his Fv to his side and his 6 beats the Uruk-hai's 4

Well, I know....I was just furthering the point he made about 'what if one of them in a spear support situation loses' but yeah, your example is better. I just typed it up really quick while organizing some stuff for ebay hahaha.
