That is such a clever way of recycling, and the result is great! I think my other half should take note of this, would certainly clear up all of the spare sprues he has lying around! ;)

They look good, especially as a group. I think a few of them could use with a black wash to add some definition to the armor, and you may consider making the straps a darker grey, or even brown because right now they kind of blend in with the armor.
Good job :yay:

These are looking good, your painting is improving. A dark wash would help bring out some of the detail in the armour, then re highlight after it's dry.

Thank you all guys :)
Well, I have done a black wash (you can mostly see that in the armour's tree), but then i tought the result was too dark so I drybrushed the armour with a lighter silver, and then the details with an even lighter one.

With Orcs you want a messy dirty look. also your painting has been coming along well, your brush control is improving so all in all you are heading in the right direction.
We can all find fault in our work, it's what drives us forward.

They aren't the most wonderful of sculpts, but I have a fondness for them anyway. You've done a great job on them. I don't think they're messy at all.

Painting looks nice. Smooth and neat. I'm not a fan of the mold line going through him as it stands out a bit.

Your work is really coming along well and I think this could be your best to date. For such a small figure you have done it really really well. The face tones are excellent.
I think your way forward is pushing your shades and highlights, for example -
The bent knee could have an extra highlight on the top of the knee to make it pop a bit more.
The folds on the cloak could be darker.
Above all though you have developed a lot since your first figures, I'm impressed with the effort and it's paying dividends.
One further thing, I think you could do with a Matt varnish to take off that sheen you see. I use vallego Matt varnish which is excellent, just paint it all over the finished piece and that's it, no colour loss or yellowing.

Great work on Sam, agree with you and Mertaal, the plastic Orcs were not the best of sculpts (a couple of them were little gems) but there is a big fondness to them.

First of all, thanks a lot Mally for all the tips along the way
Well, believe me when I say that I've been trying really hard to get nice results on the shading and highlighting. Those techniques aren't easy to control at all, but I think it is time to focus on that.

As for the matt varnish, I have bought one yesterday, from vallejo as well, and I've used it on Sam. I bought the spray, and maybe the results are a bit different...
This is the one I've bought...
