I painted this little dude whilst I was waiting for a wash to dry on some other models.

I'm still not overly keen on the white skin however I don't think I've seen them painted better, love the cold eyes and work on the bone.

After seeing DMS's excellent Galadriel I was inspired to make another attempt at my own. I wasn't happy with the original paint job being caught out by the more refined finecast sculpt but being finecast I was reluctant to try removing the paint. These days I'm a little less risk averse so gave it a go using dilute simple green and a very short soaking period It's a little scruffy in places as I had to pick off most of the paint with gentle scraping with a model knife but it's good to know that it can be done and next time I can be more aggressive with the soaking time.

So far I've done the face and main robe and sketched in the main areas of the other parts.

Yeah they are quite tiny. At least they are well defined and symmetrical so weren't too difficult.

I'm seriously jealous of your work on Galadriel' s gown.
What kind of colours did you use, if I may ask?

The basecoat is thrall flesh, shaded with glazes of first beast hide and then bastion grey. Highlights are frostbite. They are all from the P3 range. I've been using that combination to paint a group of zombies and really like it and find the colour transitions create a lot of contrast across small areas.
