Hi everybody,

what do you think about my Moria & Angmar list? The plan is to have a 500 Pts. Moria army and simply add a very strong Hero to this force for having a 700 or 750 Pts. army.

Warband 1 12/12
Grôblog
5 Moria Goblin Warrior with Shield;
5 Moria Goblin Warrior with Spear;
1 Bat Swarm
1 Cave Troll
----
Warband 2 12/12
Moria Goblin Shaman
4 Moria Goblin Warrior with Shield;
3 Moria Goblin Warrior with Spear;
2 Warg Marauder
3 Gundabad Blackshield
----
Warband 3 12/12
Moria Goblin Shaman
6 Moria Goblin Warrior with Shield;
6 Moria Goblin Warrior with Spear;
----

Which hero should I add to this force? I already have the Witch King on Fellbeast. If I take him like this (The Witch-king of Angmar with armoured Fell beast; Crown of Morgul; 3 Extra Might; 10 Extra Will; 3 Extra Fate), he would cost exactly 250 Pts.. I was also thinking about Bolg/Azog on (white) Warg; who would be better?

Thank you for your help.

depends what you want really, a fast moving spell casting monster with one wound or if you want a hero killing 6 might nearly unstoppable orc with F7.

Or you could go with less might and get the watcher in the water, for a strategic challenge

I will definitely try out the witch King, because I already have him. However, the question is also, which hero would be the best for my army? Watcher in the water is interesting but expensive. The question is also:Bolg or Azog?

Last question: What do you think about the Moria army?

in the above army, Azog would work better, glending much-needed might to an otherwise alright force.

So you don't think that I can trust Bolgs special rule?

Bolg is great tbf, the thing that usually make Azog more desirable in force is the survivability of the white warg and the added might. Bolg however is gonna crack some heads, you want him to get to 2 kill asap to get the terror going

I am only afraid of his low defence in comparison to Bolg.

If he gets azog lieutenant of sauron he is still squish, but azog on warg with a 12" stand fast, yes plz :P

in case of doubt, bolg castellan of gundabad is more than enough..

As far as I know though I think those last 250pt should be invested on gobos and beasts fro moria.

The watcher is a good call, although if you had durz, the king of moria you get +3 might and the 12" stand fast. Also gives room for you get other big monsters like more cave trolls or dwellers.

Or you wanna get some wilderness, spider queen + wargs + spiders, it should make your force a very interesting one.

I only have the following miniatures from Moria & Angmar:

Witchking on fellbeast
Gulavhar
Balrog
2 goblin shamans
Durbuz (I will use him as Groblog)
48 goblin warriors
1 cave troll
1 bat swarm
2 warg marauders
14 wild wargs
Goblin drumm

I can buy something for this army, however, I want to keep it cheap.

Upgrade all your goblins with shield to gundabad black shields. Defense 6 and strength 4! Keep the spear support. Try to use the named cave troll from angmar. He is very good and not that expensive compared to a generic cave troll. Also make/proxy warg marauders. (Don't know if I spell that right). But they can really tear up your enemy ranks if you have at least 4 of them.

What about 2 Dwellers in the Dark (you could proxy one with the Balrog) and another warband of Goblins? You only need to buy one Dweller. And 3 Monsters will rock!

Unless you know for a fact you will never face Nature's Wrath with this army, I suggest you use the extra point on a monstrous Hero that can go straight on the front lines to get straight into combat, and resist Nature's Wrath, otherwise they can just go out of range of your Shamans/Groblog
