Great progress and as Gandalf says a touch of yellow will really heat things up. As for the varnish I'd go with matt.

Finally, I have finished my Balrog.
There were again some tough and packed days in which I could only dream about spare hours for hobby.

Here are some pics:

There is no base , as it goes straight to already made diorama.
Now, there is a time for making Gandalf, the last piece of set.

OK. Thanks everyone for comments :)

Despite the fact , that Balrog goes onto diorama without it's base, I decided to finish this one as well in case of different purpose (i.e. gaming, standing alone etc...).
Here are "final" results.

Now, it's time for painting Gandalf to have it ready by tomorrow afternoon to fully close chapter named "You shall not pass" and then start new projects.

Great work in here. Top marks for lighting effects on both the bridge and the model.

Once again, big thanks to everyone for comments and good words about my jobs.

I spent last couple of days working with Dweller's figure which I got as Christmas gift and which is my first resign made model.
And I must say, I DO HATE FINECAST as nothing else in any hobby I have ever practiced in my life. This is real nightmare...
I will share my experiences and model assembly and painting WIP , later this month when I sort out things together with pictures made for records.
In meantime , I took Gandalf who is still missing to ready duel diorama.
Here are some pics from this weekend painting:

Model is still not finished as some elements are not done , yet.
What is worth to mention is fact, that it was my first attempt for NMM technique on sword and I must say, I am quite satisfied with outcome.
Not perfect, but I guess it looks OK, isnt' it ?

Good lord this is incredible. The Balrog is breathtaking. Oddly enough, it's his tongue and horns I enjoy most, but the heat transition on his back is fantastic too.
Gandalf looks great too. His sword and belt are eye catching. Your father is a lucky man.

The vibrant colours on his robes look great and the NMM is flawless on a particularly difficult sword to paint using the NMM technique. Well done!

I don't know how I managed to miss this thread, but it looks incredible! I really like your balrog and the display is coming along nicely. The NMM and in general the colour transitions on Gandalf are very well done too! 8)
