Basically what the title says. Which one is more worth it cuz I got a spot left in a warband.

It depends on how you want to play. If you like to play spread out, as most people would with wood Elves, then I'd take the sentinel. However, if you like to play in a compact formation, the banner might be more effective because it would aid a large portion of your army. Personally, I'd take the sentinel, as they can be very useful to bring low courage priority targets (like trolls) towards you so that you can heroic strike and swamp them. They are also good for blocking the enemy's bowfire with their own models. Really though, it's up to you.

I played a few games with it the other day, and a warband with 6x Wood Elves w/ Spears, 5x Wood Elves w/ Elven Blades , a banner and a Stormcaller seemed to work really well. Obviously you will have more fight value than most warriors, so the more dice you can roll to get a 6 the better. And with the Stormcaller, even if you did lose the fight they could not strike you against your poor D3. The 'get will back on 6's' rule is also really nice, you can really keep it up that way.

Gonna have to try a sentinel warband now, from what I can tell you'd want the sentinel in a warband with a hard-hitting hero, to snipe the low courage targets more easily. I guess I'll be placing my sentinel in the Rumil warband?

I like the sentinels and banners are always nice but probably you'd be better off squeezing in more troops. If you're already maxed out numbers I'd probably go with the sentinel cause they're more fun and feel really themey to me but I suspect the banner would better. The elves with high fight value getting that higher dice roll is so important. I find that I end up always grouping up when I start fighting with elves too cause you'll be out numbered by almost everything.

I think the banner is generally usable and will effect a larger percentage of your army. However, the sentinel is great for tipping single crucial fights into your favor.

Definitely true. The banner can also score you point in to the death? Is it? I think is the one where you can get VPs for holding a banner. I really hope with the extension of the game we see a sentinel like unit for thranduils halls!
