Comparing your Easterlings from the beginning of this thread to now is great. The improvement is definitely there.

The blue on the Grim hammers is fantastic. It reminds me of the French, but I still really like it. Standouts for me were the quivers on the Easterlings and their swords. Well done, both of you!

Thank you! I am glad you like them!

I'd really like to think that our photographer skills have improved as well. We are trying to use natural daylight. That is however quite a pain during this season. We live in the northern hemisphere and our house points to the north. The daylight only really reaches our house at around 1 pm, and at 2 pm the sun has sunk down below trees and neighbouring houses. In addition there has been only like 5 sunny days the last two months, of which 4 have occured on work days. Some of the miniatures shown in our most recent post were painted during the late summer or early autumn, but there just has not been a good photo opportunity since then.

A Grimhammer Captain finished. I still find resin miniatures harder to get to look good, as the surfaces are much more uneven than plastic ones, which are always quite smooth.

Beautiful painting throughout. I find you Easterlings in particular to be a success.

Thank you! I am glad you like them. Not sure when it will be time to paint more easterlings, but when it is time however there will be black dragons painted.

I agree with Feanor that the metallics look really strong. Achieving a good level of contrast with metallics is the greatest challenge and the orcs and the Grim Hammers before that both nail that part of the miniature. I look forward to more updates :)

You're doing a very nice job on highlighting, especially on the faces.

I agree with Rognarr! The pale skin is perfectly done on this latest orc. The shadows around the eye are nice touch as well.

Thank you everyone for the comments. I have not had much time to paint lately (got a baby in August 2019). Also, I spend 15+ hours on each miniature, so the last year I only managed to paint two models, one morannon orc and one morannon orc captain. Sorry for spamming pictures, but this is quite a significant achievment for me. :D Please share any comments, advice or critizism.
