Quick question, if I shield and I also have an elven blade do I still get the 3-6 to win the duel roll (if fight values are drawn)? For example if Celeborn shields against Aragorn, and we both roll a 6 do I win the fight on a 3 -6?

Not 100% sure, but I presume as you're using your shield rather than a weapon you wouldn't get any of the weapon bonuses.

Sort of like saying you get Orcrist's rule when shielding with the oakenshield.

Is this referring to something from the new hobbit book? I thought elf blades just offered the opportunity to use a wpn with 1 or 2 hands?

Yeah they got a bonus ability in The Hobbit rulebook. Makes them more worthwhile taking...sometimes.

That's good. I always felt shorted that legendary elf blades were basically hand and a half swords.

This is correct. No elf bonuses when shielding.

which makes sense, since if you are shielding, your shield is in front of you and your sword is somewhere else.

I would not agree with that. Most rules dont go with logic to keep the game balanced. But when you purchase an equipment ( even blade in this case) you get its bonuses unless mentioned otherwise. For example it is mentioned that with a shield equiped you cant use elven blade as 2 handed. But nowhere mentioned that you dont get its bonuses in overall.

Without referring back to the rulebook...
Yes, you will win a tied duel roll w/ tied fight value. If both parties have elven blades, then roll off...

heres how i see it. if you are shielding with a shield you don't get it. if the model has a parry rule and is using a elf blade then yes it would (the twin elf hero's have this effect)

You would only gain the bonus while using the Elven blade. You can't piercing strike while you use an Elven blade just because you also purchased an axe
