Cheers Dave, I guess that means my technique is effective. Can't think of a better compliment.

Give your wife a sick-bag from me.

BURP!!!

I see he's coughed out that hairball

I feel rather peckish after seeing what's on the warg menu tonight, excellent job mate, the blood stains look so effective, is it red gloss paint or something? I really like the warg buddies as well, there is just the right amount of colour, shade, contrast and depth needed. I'm eager to now get on with my WWC and buy some wargs! :D

It's TOP SECRET! Luckily, I did take step-by-step photos. You'd almost think I was going to write an article or something...

OMFG!!!!1111!!!!1! The world is going to end. You mean not only have I managed to get everyone on the WIP bandwagon, but that, people are painting because of me?

Sir, you jest!

Seriously though, cheers mate. I'm particularly proud of the blood effect. I'll go over the pics I took and see what I can knock up.

Well, see how I said I nearly lost a finger...

Khamul is done, taking me up to 80% completed for Evil.

Bit too much daylight for the photo's to be great, but once the full Evil force is done I'll try and get more 'professional' pics.

What do you mean I can't get into the shopping centre until I take my hoodie off?

Oh, and here is a little teaser of what the gore effect looks like when you add 'chunks.'

Dave, send your good lady away before opening.

Well, only the Warg Riders, 3 Orcs and the Troll Chieftan to go, until I have to start worrying about cleaning out my water jar for all those Elven whites. Actually, I might do it sooner. It smells pretty funky and tastes worse...

Edit - Had an email saying order was sent out today. Let's hop it comes tommorow to make up for the delay.

Khamul looks like a right thug! I wouldn't let him in my shop either  (if I owned one lol)

The blood looks good. Kinda like my brothers Stop light red and some Chest nut ink.
I'll never get though, why a Warg Shieftain, the guy every one looks up too, is eating in the middle of the battle. THe battle could go either way, and there you find George the Mutt, eating.....sad...

I see it as due to the fact he doesn't have opposable thumbs, he can't carry a sword, so needs to use his teeth and claws to kill the enemy. Hence the blood over the face. The body is still intact. It just has more ventilation.

or

I don't know if he is eating him. The model is sculpted with tears in the breastplate, so I reckon he's just been slashed open, or had a bite taken out of him. The Chieftain is the pack leader, and cunning to boot, so he has plunged his maw into the still warm corpse of his foe, driving him into a furious blood lust, and he stands atop his trophy, daring new opponents to challenge him before he despoils their fallen comrade, causing mass hysteria as they see their brother-in-arms devoured. Possibly, whilst still alive.

or

It looks cool.

Choice is yours.

:D

3 Orcs, 6 Warg Riders and a Troll Chieftan left. It's almost worth a visit to the mother-in-laws to get the Riders sprayed and the finished stuff varnished.

Almost...

the "almost..." says it all. i loves these guys, the painting is fantastic! the blood detail is amazing, you can really see it on the close-up. on the sculpts, it is strange that IMHO, the WWC is one of their best sculpts - i love it. it annoys me though, that they recycle that head for every single metal warg they have - so lazy! comparing this to the spiders, which i think are possibly some of the worst sculpts they have done (aside from the newish harad stuff). the 2 main beasts side by side -no contest.

Well, here is a little sneaky-peek of how the Troll Chieftan is coming along, for those of you still young enough to enjoy a social life on a Friday night.

Remember: It's not finished yet. And the light is reflecting too much on the armour.
:D

Pretty much all the base colours are down, did a bit highlighting on the face, and shouldn't take to long to get the big fella finished. Also just about done with those last 3 Orcs.

Getting there.

Well, I won't keep you in suspenders any longer then Dave. :D

I didn't want to stray too far from the colour scheme I'd used on my other Troll, same goes for the Orcs. They were a pretty rush job, but hey, plenty more where they came from. (And still plenty more to do for another project, no doubt.).

Well, that just leave the 6 Warg Riders to get painted up. Man, I can't believe that I've painted so much, so quickly, considering it all looks relatively good and I don't have a tournament deadline over my head.
Not that I'd ever want to repeat the debacle that was finishing painting an army for Conflict in GW Falkirk, 10 minutes before the bus left. Or the subsequent assembly of said army on bus journey to Edinburgh. Or the frantic search for a hot glue-gun to stick Old One-eye to his base before the first game...
LOL!

This thread has been a real good read so far - lots of great pics (and funny little quips by you John lol).

The Chieftain is good, and fits in great with the rest of your figs. As you've said, the speed at which all these figures have been completed is terrific. You must have great enthusiasm - do you often read the books/catch bits of the movies for a little bit of inspiration now and then? Just today I watched the FotR Prologue speakers at full whack, to give me a bit of inspiration for the 16 Second Age High Elves I will tackle over the coming week for a Last Alliance army...

Great work though
