Quick! Take a drink of this.

It kinda looks like hot chocolate, but I'm pretty sure it could turn you blind.

Actually, it won't make you blind, but I can attest to the fact that it tastes terrible! Oh yes, I have had a taste of my paint water before.

The troll came out great John!! I may just have to tackle mine soon!

Glad you're enjoying it Harry.

Actually, I'm the laziest bar steward known to man. I would consider myself apathetic if I could be bothered.... I have absolutely no idea where I'm getting this enthusiasm from. Maybe it is the brush water. Or the free coffee at work, I'm on about 10 cups a day.

And no. I started reading the LotR about 16 years ago, and didn't make it past the first 50 pages... I must just have a vivid imagination (it's the brush water) I never went back to it until FotR hit the cinemas, and I've only watched each film 3 times. Once at the cinema, once when released on DVD, and once since then. I really should go back to them, and watch the EE stuff. I'll probably start reading the books now though, just to remember what happened. Something about a very popular piece of jewellery, right?

No doubt within the next week or so I'll be begging for ideas on how to paint elves...

It's a bugger when you rinse your brush in your coffee and take a swig of paint water. Especially when it has 'bits' floating about in it...

I'd suggest some sort of padding then Dave, or at the very least, a cup.

:D

Yes! My order arrived this morning!

No! I need to start on the Elves....

:D

Oh, and

Almost...

Lol!

John don't let your missus see that

Ach she knows...

I'll put this as phonetically as possible, just so you can 'hear' the dialect.

Me - Ur you gone over ti yer maws the day?

Her - Naw, why?

Me - Jist wundered...

Her - Why?

Me - Well, ye usually dae like.

Her - Nah, wisnae plannin on it.

Me - Right, nae bother. Ah'd gie ye a run if ye wahnted.

Her - Ah thot ye didnae like gone ti ma ma's?

Me - Aye, well, Ah've got stuff ti prime....

She called me on it today.

Her - ur ye wahntin' ti go ti ma ma's thi day?

Me - Naw...

Her - How no? Yi wahnted ti go yisturday.

Me - Aye, but it's raining noo...

:?

Translation -
Me - Are you paying a visit to your mother's today?

Her - No, why do you ask?

Me - Merely curious...

Her - Why?

Me - Well, it is something you quite often do.

Her - No, that was not my intention.

Me - Ok, that is fine. I would have driven you over there, if that had been your desire.

Her - I was under the impression that you did not enjoy spending time in her company?

Me - That is the lesser of two evils Darling, I have models requiring the attentions of spray paint....

She called me on it today.

Her - Would you care to accompany me to my mother's today?

Me - No...

Her - May I enquire as to why not? You seemed keen to visit yesterday.

Me - Yes, that was very much the case, but the sudden appearance of rain foils my intention of priming models outside...
:D Love those eyes! Brings a model to life when you can see some form of emotion and it looks to me as if this Troll Cheiftain is gearing himself up into a wild rage, ready to squash any insignificant figure in his path, pretty elf or not!

Another great piece of work John, can we have a 'school photo' of all those evil fellows please

Can you wait until the Warg Riders are done? Or is the need too great?

Nope, she realised that it was a lost cause as I had 'little metal men' to occupy my time...

Typical, it's been mostly sunny all week, and now that I need to prime stuff, it starts raining.

Have built up Thranduil, the Sentinels, the Banner Bearer and Elrond. Coffee, fag, quick browse, then I'll get started on the first 12 Wood Elfs.

Has anybody else noticed that two of the Sentinels are actually female? (As is the Banner Bearer)...

They all have identical faces and hair though.

That must get embarrassing at Wood Elf discos...

Very very nice.
Great force, I love giant spiders.

However the red bit on Khamul IMO should be a bit darker.

I like what you've done with the troll-cheiften looks good. What is realy impressing (to me at least) is how many models you've done this week, and to this standard! :D

I remember painting them and then suddenly noticing two large (in comparison) bumps were the elvish six-pac would normally sit. However on closer inspection I think 'these' are just the weird shape of the 'breast-plate' armour, which is probably leather. I hope they aren't female, because mine look like dudes lol!

The evil bunch! I really admire the way the bases are all similar looking which helps tie these different characters together. And those eyes on the spiders haha love them, pink is the way to go, must remember that for mine.

Great job gaarew! :)

Now that is the way it should be, as far as a models to chore ratio, but make that 22 Hobbits, 0 Evil models and 2 chores. ;)

Next week Dave, it'll probably be;

Evil models 6, Good models 0, household chores 22...

Still, have managed to assemble Thranduil, Elrond, a Banner Bearer, 3 Sentinels of unknown gender, 12 Wood Elves, and am starting on the next 12.

You'd think if Elves were so perfect, they'd arrive without mould lines...
