This could be the wrong forum (if so, please move it), but here goes:

Portuguese Cassador:
Cost: 10 points
F S D A W C
3/4+ 3 4 1 1 3

Equipment
Rifle: Cassadors are armed with rifles, which have Strength 4, no Volley Fire, and Cassadors can move half their move and still fire.
Sabre: A lovely curved sword. No special effect.

Special Rule
Massed Infantry. If 10 or more Cassadors are standing with bases touching within 12 inches of a Cassador Captain, the Captain can expend 1 Might Point to allow the army to fire in the enemies face en masse. All shots count as hitting, but when rolling to wound the required roll is increased by 1.

Portuguese Cassador Captain:
Cost: 60 points
F S D A W C M W F
4/4+ 4 5 2 2 4 2 1 1

Equipment
See Cassador

Special Rule
See Cassador

And here are the links to the pics:

Great! Portugal rules!
Your stats are based in AOE3 and i'me very happy with them but i don't think riffles could fit in Middle Earth.

As curiosity Cassadores isn't the correct portuguese word for it that is Caçadores. (the "ç" is read like "ss").
Today this groups no longer exists and they beacame Comandos!

I know, I just thought it would be kind of cool. A bit of trivia, Caçadore is actually Portuguese for Hunter.

I might actually do more rules for more AOE3 units.

It says the number required to wound is increased by one.

What happens if the number required to hit is already as 6?

does it have no effect or do you need a 6 followed by a 4 or something like that?

Then you need to roll a 6 and then a 1.

EDIT: Oops, did I say a 1? I meant a 6 and then a 4  . But you HAVE to get the 6. If not, you can't roll for the 4.

All suggestions are welcome, so now the

Redcoat, British Infantry
Cost: 11 points
F/+ . S D A W C
3/4+ 4 4 .1 1 .3

Equipment
Musket: Same as Rifle. Redcoats are armed with muskets, which have Strength 4, no Volley Fire, and Redcoats can move half their move and still fire.
NO BASE HAND WEAPON

Bayonet (1 point): A bayonet counts as a hand weapon and grants an extra fight point against cavalry. can be used by all forms of musketeers.

Special Rule
Massed Infantry: See Cassadors
Professionals: Redcoats were feared throughout Europe for their skill in battle. As such, Redcoats never need to take a courage test unless a Nobleman (rules to be posted) is on the field.

Redcoat Captain
Cost: 65 points
F/+ S D A W C M W F
4/4 5 5 .2 2 ..3 2 1. 1
Equipment
Musket: See Redcoats.
NO BASE HAND WEAPON

Bayonet (5 points):
Special Rule
Massed Infantry: See Cassadors.
Professionals: See Redcoats.

All rules from the Cost Calculator

(Sorry about the full stops in the profile. Otherwise the points wouldn't be in the right places.)

I don't think bayonets should get +1 FV. The base profile should count as "unarmed", then the bayonet adds a hand weapon. (and +1 to wound cav)

And about massed infantry: I think the "heroic fire"should only apply if firing at another "massed infantry" unit. If you think about it, even if you line up your men, it doesn't help you if your targets have broken ranks and running for cover.

Alright, I'll edit the profiles about the bayonet rule.

But when you think about it a line of infantry can take out scattered foes as easily as large concentrations. They're still being hit by a volley of musket balls.

I just got AOE3 this week and have been beating the (rhymes with chap) out of everything in sight.... I have all the earlier versions and expansions too - enjoyed them though there is just a couple of things that bug me about it - it uses a lot of resources, though not as bad as Supreme Commander, and there is a limit of 200 per side, though you can get allies and some other odds and ends like ships/canoes... but is runs well. Takes forever to save in mid-game.

So dorth, do you have an ESO account? I could play you some time...

And what d'you think of the stats here? Do they accurately reflect the abilities of the units in-game? If you don't think so, suggest a way to make it more realistic.

No, that's AoM. AoE 3 is the one with Spain. France, Ottomans etc. fighting in the New World. Acronyms can get confusing. :-D

Ah, Chief Ingold - The Dorth does not do online gaming as (a) he does not have the time and (b) it is a significant security risk.
I have been masquerading as several nationalities, learning their strengths, foibles and weaknesses. I like it a lot.

And which nation do like most? Personally, my top 3 are Portugal, Spain, and the Dutch, in that order.

I'm impressed of these profiles you have made, Ingold. Do you have any suggestions for miniatures to use? :)
