I prefers Helms Deep battle, this was more real and that part of the film when Aragorn, Theoden, Legolas and Rohirrim ride out to the encounter of the uruk hai. Instants after, Gandalf arrives with Eomer and the thousands of Rohirrim. That scene was wonderful.

"king theoden stands alone"....."not alone"...."rohirrim...to the king!!!"

ROTK, minis morgul, "the scum tried to knife me!", the last scene of the fight when a urk smashes the orcs head flat with the stone ball.

Gandalf pushng the Nazgul back after Faramir flees Osgiliath, the music and cinematography is classic.

When Pipin tells Denethor about Boromirs death and it cuts back to the look on Merry and Pipins face in the FOTR.

...when Gandalf met The Witch King. not much of a fight but still cool.

Minas Tirith...

But I think Moria is very dramatic, perhaps more intense, and is a very good piece of film as it has a sense of being trapped that the book has though its a shame the book of Mazarbul wasn't read thouroughly in the film, that bit is particularly grim (in a good way).

I thought Helms Deep was the best. The charge of the Rohirrim down the hill with the sun behind them was epic :-D .

Mine is more of a skirmish than a battle.

Definitely the Amon Hen confrontation between the Uruk scouts and The Fellowship. Ace.

Or Osgiliath, the most heroic battle by far. A very emotional piece of film, music and visuals are superb.

For me, it has to be 'The Never Ending Battle'

This is little known in Tolkiens work but basically is a constant battle between DurinsBane & Dagorlad ... GO BALROGS !!!

Could people actually try to type properly on this thread?

Anyway, I voted for Helm's Deep, partly because that the Urak-Hai Pikemen that was charged by Gandalf & Erkenbrad (Eomer in the films), and hundreds of Rohhririm. That scene was Iconic, and That was what made me collect the Urak-Hai. :D
