Update: I will be selling this whole set of miniatures (the main box set, plus many additional figures) in the next week or so on Ebay.

Just thought I would share a few photos of this game I have been painting for the last 2 years. Basically, when I would get tired of painting 25mm figures, I would do a batch of these little guys. They took forever partly because I wanted to paint them at a high standard. Even though they are only 10mm (very small), I rarely see them painted well, and now I know why. It takes forever to do a group of these little guys.

I finally finished the orcs this week and I am excited to play a game or two. The best part of this game is that all the miniatures needed to play come in the box. I did purchase the extra miniatures (like Smaug) so that I could run some alternative scenarios but am glad I have what I need to run the scenarios in the book.

Anyway, here are some of the photos:

Those are sooo nice mate. I don't envy you on the time it mustve taken to paint all of that, especially at that standard!!!

Although, you realise since you've mentioned smaug - your going to have to let us have a look at him in his completed glory - right right?

Those are really very nice. I can believe that it would take 2 years to paint the lot. I bought the box, but only ended up painting a couple of stands of the miniatures. They can be maddeningly difficult to paint.

Thanks for the comments.
I'm working on the orc command now and will move to smaug soon.

BTW...if anyone knows where I can find the Elven Cav. blister pack please let me know. It's sold out most everywhere but maybe there is a pack in your local store somewhere?

One last thing...I was emailed regarding the size of these figures so here is a photo of a US penny along side the miniatures to help understand the size.

Gods alive, man! Excellent job, both with the painting and obscene amount of patience that obviously required!

That explains why I haven't seen new minis from you for the past two years... :)

Great work, I haven't seen these little guys painted so well before. The goblin army must have been a real pain to paint. It must be wonderful to play the game with such armies now.

That's absolutely mindblowing fantastic how you painted those little figs!!

I have the complete range of these guys aswell (apart from the Elven Cavalry.. @§$£%€ GW took em out of production just the week I ordered them all), so I know how little these guys really are!

This is really fantactic to see how nice these guys can be painted!!
Honestly, that is just shutting my mouth (hmm, more like making me rant). Makes me feel like painting mine aswell! This is suck an excellent inspiration!

Excellent work mate!! :yay:

Thanks for the comments guys.

The hardest part for me was looking at that box full of miniatures thinking, there is NO way I am going to paint all of those. If I would have tried to do them all at once I would have gone mad, which is why it took a few years...

All I can say is WOW !

I remember when the Battle of the 5 Armies was first released and I honestly said to myself ... how the hell are you supposed to paint something that small ?

I applaud you :yay:

Not only is actually finishing the entire collection an achievement, but the level of paint achieve is astonishing !!!

I'm throwing a couple of coins your way purely for your commitment and dedication to this project ...outstanding Boseafus 8)

I've never seen a finer 10mm army - it's superb. I'd be happy if my 28mm stuff came out that well.

Hey thanks! :D

I will have a few more figures done in the next month or so. Currently trying to finish the giant and then move on to some trolls.

AWESOME!

Do you know how similar the minis are to Warmaster (which I play) and would you recommend BoFA to anyone short of painting time?!?

Yeah...the minis are really similar. I actually mix them a bit with my warmaster stuff. Essentially the game is exactly the same as well. I have a couple WM armies that are based but not painted yet that I picked up for a great price.

The only real difference I notice is that the BOFA figures are plastic (most of them anyway) which makes them look a little different but not enough to care when playing.

Enjoy.

Here's a couple more that I finished up this week. I now just need to find the elusive Eleven Cav. pack and paint them up. Smaug was primed this week.

Oops, I must have missed this last update!
Truly amazing!
I got them aswell, all still in blister (appart from the missing Elven Cavalry :( )... They look really wonderfull mate!
I feel like starting mine aswell (I think I said that aswell after your first series, and honestly, I took my box and opened it and looked at all the figs again... but didn't get any further as closing the box again and putting it back on the shelf it came from.
Got so much to do actually, but still, these figs look really amazing and the way you finished them are really encouraging to start painting them!!

Awesome mate!
Can't wait to see Smaugh!

Elven Cav... If you know where to find them... feel free to drop me a message! It's all I miss from the series (eventhough I ordered it at GW while they still had it, they took them all off not three days after I placed my order... :-X and the cav was out of stock :( )
