I've got most of the LotR dice that Games Workshop released, which have the symbol replacing the 1, but it wouldn't be too much of a problem if it were switched on these dice.

These dice have me sold! I'll be buying a set without a doubt :)

Any idea as to what color you want them? Blue dice with gold letters would be pretty slick (and match the rulebooks nicely).

I'm not in the habit of buying themed dice. That being said, I'll definitely buy these.

I like the design of the one ring. I think the colors should be blue and gold to match the rule book. I would be interested in buying two or three sets. I also prefer the design on the six. Most of the custom dice I use are already like that. That being said I am a new guy so in the end I will defer to the vets.

Those came out splendidly! Fantastic job! :-D I guess the colours could be optional because I remember reading earlier that it doesn't cost anything more to switch them.

I was also inclined to vote for it replacing the one, however after seeing the design, I would always want to roll the dice in the hope that 'the One Ring' came up, so I'd love to see this were the 6 sits

I just got an email back from the lovely Dawn at dice.co.uk (or "Dawn of the Dice" as I tend to think of her), regarding the cost of postage out to me here in Australia.

£55.76

Or £9.90 to somewhere in the UK.

8)

Hithero offered to help out, which was unbelievably generous of him (thanks Dave), but I really should speak with Brian about this. He's expecting to mke a return to the website this weekend.

£55 - Eeeek, thats a killer and then you have customer distribution costs on top of that. It might be worth enquiring for postage on less dice, although I can't see how it costs that much unless they are using courier instead of Royal Mail. How many dice are you ordering or roughly the weight and we can find other prices and Dawn might nip down the post office with it instead. Here's a link to 'normal' uk posties.
http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/jump1?catId=400023&mediaId=400033
Offer still stands to help with distribution.

I was going to order 560 dice, enough for 70 sets (35 red and 35 blue), which comes to a total of 2.2Kg - hence the ridiculous postage costs. The costs are about the same for Royal Mail International and UPS, so I don't think Dawn of the Dice is taking the ****.

If I ship them out to me here then that would mean I need to sell 42 sets before covering my costs. If we do it out of the UK, then we need to sell 30 sets to hit that target - much more achievable.

I haven't been able to talk to Brian for a month so he's completely unaware about about this whole dice thing. He may want to handle the shipping stuff himself, or he may not want to get involved, or be too busy, I just don't know. But I need to talk to him first before I can take you up on your offer Dave.

I've got his works number...

Edit - whatever happens, it might also be easier to batch post the dice once their starting location is determined.

IE - if you have them, work out how many you need for the UK etc and send them to Brian, who then posts them out cheaper etc.

Hello ! :-D

I am finally back online with a brand spoanking new PC and new BT hub.

Myself and Alan have discussed the dice scenario a few times in the past...great to see it come to fruition !

Many thanx to Dave (Hithero) for the offer of receiving and delivering, however I am more than happy to undertake this myself.

Cant wait for the first shipment to see how they look in real life...maybe I'll just keep them for myself and sell at an extortionate rate on EBay :D

I have a similar problem when shipping large orders of my own stuff abroad. It is a ridiculous jump of about 40 quid if you go over the 2kg weight bracket. It is cheaper for me to send two smaller packages than one heavy one. Beats me why. Works out as the same weight but takes up more space on the plane!

I have begun the process of ordering the dice now. Once they're here, Ill put up some photos and you can see what the finished dice look like. I've dropped the numbers back a bit to get the order under two kilos, so hopefully the postage should drop a bit too (thanks for the idea Dave).

NOTE: It'll take a few weeks before they arrive though, so don't place any orders yet.

I am afraid that I can only do PayPal though - I hope that is acceptable for everyone.
