This makes a lot of sense to me.

Perhaps it makes sense, but the only 'named' ringwraith I will buy is the Witch King, I dislike the others. Although, perhaps The Tainted could be useful if I would make a 'Get off the road' diorama.

Khamul isn't made up either though. He and the WK are the 2 mentioned in the books (Pretty sure anyway)

Yeah, I know, but I don't like the sculpt, so I'll just use a regular ringwraith for him.

I personally think they are fantastic models! :)

I do however disagree with GW's "wraith-work" overall and so I doubt I will use them as wraiths.

The models are good though and there are plenty of ways to make good use of all the great sculpts that the Perry twins have made for the nine - I plan to use the Dark Marshal as Gothmog Lieutenant of Minas Morgul, obviosly with a face sculpted into his helmet!

I think they are both great!

Would be good to see GW follow up with more new models such as stone giants etc.

It would renew my faith that GW care about continuing LOTR as a core game.

The only named Ringwraith I'll use is The Witch-King, though Khamul is Tolkien to, I'm not fond of the model.

The reason I play LOTR SBG is because it's based on the fantasy world I love, exploring Middle-earth through terrain building and painting Tolkienesque armies is half the fun for me, as such I try to aviod GW's Ringwraiths.

What can I say, I just love The Professor's work. :)

1st of all the models are POOR ringwraith models, they don't look at all wraith like. Don't get me wrong, as stand alone models they are well sculpted and I will probably buy the knight of umbar as a harad king and the other one as a numenorian captain but not as wraiths.

2nd of all I dont understand these Tolkein bashers, George lucas invented star wars then gave other people the freedom to do their own stories in his universe (for a fee) and those stories are AWESOME!! Same happened with star trek and many other great books.
Why do Tolkein fans take this stance?? Only becuase the family have been so tight as to not let anyone else have the rights to add to the stories.
I'd love to know more about the wider stories... never gonna happen

maybe the betrayer would make a good black numenorean marshal, since there was no mini released for him, despite a profile in the mordor book.

I just don't like ringwraiths having hats. The empty hoods are such an integral part of the image for me.

I guess new line cinema will eventually regret giving GW that license. Maybe it will be when the ringwraiths are mounted on elks, wielding lightsabres and wearing small party hats with the eye of sauron on it.

I really want to know what they'll do for the dwimmerlaik. A fancier looking traditional wraith (like the Shadowlord and the Tainted) would be nice, but I have a feeling we'll get another one with a hat
Image
The concept sketches for the new nazgul headgear...

Joking aside, I like the figures. They are a bit unorthodox for nazguls, but still, nice figures.
