Hey Guys

I have been fiddling around with light boxes and trying to take better mini photos and this is what I have come up with. I have used my Isengard Troll and Fellbeast as subjects

<a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i27.tinypic.com/m9222p.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>

<a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i32.tinypic.com/2qxareo.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>

<a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i29.tinypic.com/260pogn.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>

I know the mini's aren't painted the best but I am looking for feedback on the images.

What do you think of the quality of the images?

the quality of the photos are fine.

Both minis are nicely painted, both could do with a nice wash of badab black though. Especially the fell beast's wings and the troll's helmet.

nice work 8)

I really like the 2nd picture of the troll...only thing I'd do is wash the teeth of the troll to add back the detail that the bone paint seems to have taken away.

Nicely done, but I agree with both James and Dave.

Nice job on these figures.

Onepoint of critique, in addition to that previously mentioned (we're a bunch of meanies. :P ), is that you need to be a bitmoreneat when painting. I can see pieces of flesh with metal on it, and pieces of metal with flesh on it etc etc. it really makes a difference in the end

keep up the good work!

Thin your paints mate, even when drybrushing :) They are wayyy to thick.

These were just tests to see how I could get a better photo of my mini's. They were painted before I got wonderful advice from this community about paint thinning. I think I will try stripping them, as my painting as improved vastly since my paints have been thinned. :)

Have you begun painting the Necromancer yet? I'd love to see your paintjob on him. 8)

Ahhaha the Necromancer. I was just about to post about how I should go about painting him.

I have read some articles but I am really stuck for a good looking colour scheme. I want to stick to the traditional green spooky colour.

Has anyone got any ideas?

PS I will try and start something on the weekend, since you guys have been so paitent. :)

Nice looking KoMT, though they could really do with a few more highlights.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Necromancer though!

Yeah, I'm a big fan of John's version. I'd paint it like he did.

No problem. Although it was a while ago, I'm pretty sure I still remember what I did...

Prime black.

Armour

Overbrush Tinbitz.
Overbrush Tinbitz/Chainmail. (Substitute Boltgun Metal for a darker look)
Overbrush Chainmail.
Wash with Armour wash. (If it's too dark, try a very light drybrush of Chainmail)
Repaint non-armoured areas black.

Robes

Use Codex Grey to highlight all edges and folds.
Wash with Armour Wash.

Glow

Basecoat with Dark Angels Green.
Add Putrid Green. Go over the basecoat, leaving some showing.
Add more Putrid Green. Repeat.
Add more Putrid Green. Repeat.
Add more Putrid Green. Repeat.
Use pure Putrid Green for final highlight.
Glaze with watered down green ink. Think it might have been Ork Flesh Wash.

Detailing

Pick out details and edging with Polished Gold (VGC)

Base to taste.
