I was hoping you would pick up on that. I think I'm going to have a go at batch painting those 48 plastic haradrim whilst I am away, washing paint on is so quick it makes highlighting seem ridiculous!

Here are the Scouts, all squeeky clean washed in Devlan Mud. I've painted the top of the base and applied the skin tones which are a combination of browns and greys with a little red for good measure. Only need one wash, the bases completing and the teeth detailed until I can add these to the 'finished' pile :)

Last update until I get back guys, see you in a bit

Cool Helms Deep! 8)

Nice work so far on the miniatures as well, though I'm not overly keen on the mixed skin tones of the Uruk-hai, though as there's still a wash to add they might turn out better then...

Keep the updates coming!

Can't say I'm a fan of the mixed skin tones at all. Personally, that's something I'd save for Orcs, and keep a more unified look to the Uruks.

That said, I think my personal fave is the archer in the second row, far left. Although, maybe go for a slightly darker look.

I agree with John, but it might look better when washed.

Yes, I'm also of the opinion that the mixed skin tones doesn't really work all that well on Uruks, however the rest of the painting is great, Jack. I really like the armor, very nicely painted.

And, that Helm's Deep looks amazing, Jack! I'm really excited to see how great this project will look going forward.

Any progress on the Galdhrim?

The Helm's Depp looks cool! Great job

I think the Scouts need some lighter highlights on the Leather. :)

I like the mixed skin tones but if they were all a bit more similar to each other, that would be good. The red/pink is too light. if they were more like the dark brown and grey, maybe dark red too.

I like it! 8)

Hey long time since I updated this last. I've been skulking at Uni for about a month now and starting to find time inbetween lectures and sleep to bring out the paint and pots and create fire (or painted minis).

Sticking to the Helms Deep theme, I've been working on a pair of berserkers. Most of my uruk models have seen some paint already and just need improving but these two were bare metal a few days ago.

<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010706.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010706.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010708.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010708.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Excuse the flash, the lighting is terrible again this year (might have to get some mirrors...) Only the white hands to paint on which I'm saving until my hands become more adjusted to holding a brush rather than a controller hmm

<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010710.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010710.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/?action=view¤t=P1010713.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/lorderkenbrand/P1010713.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Rohirrim command - only the armour done so far, but I'm confident about these models as the level of detail is great!

And I could do with some ideas so go wild here, Clansmen of Lamedon, armour complete. I need colour and/or pattern schemes for the cloth sections, in the meantime I'll get their skin out of the way.

Great work, Jack! 8)

I love your Berserkers, they are just great models. The armor looks good on the Rohan Commanders as well. As far as the Clansmen go, do you not like GW's scheme for them? You could paint them using a red and green color scheme, that could look good, and would tie in nicely with your Rohan army, if you wish to use these guys as allies.

Keep us updated. :)

Yes, do them red and green like my old ones! They should look nice alongside the rohirrim.

The Berserkers are looking super; the skin in particular. :yay:

And I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing what you do with the Clansmen and Rohan Command, they're great models. :)
