So,

I was reading through the rulebook, and I came upon something not clear to me. How to determine the 'random direction' in which a mumakil stampedes...?

Can anybody help me out here?:/

Thanks in advance.

Rueben

I agree that the wording offers no specifics helping us to to decide upon the direction of this random movement. However, I think there is an alternatve for now. Some of the dice used in the other game systems from GW don't have numbers. They have arrows and "direct hit" marks. If you can find one of these dice, roll it. Reroll any and all "direct hit" marks until an arrow is displayed. The direction of this arrow should be your random direction. I think these dice are often used in games of 40K when you need to move blast markers so there should be some around your local GW store.

i believe it's called a "chaos dice" and yeah it's got arrows on and it charges whichever way the arrow points. if you don't have one just spin a pencil i guess

Actually, it's called a scatter die and is used for EXACTLY this sort of thing ;) If it does come up with the "hit", then look at the small black arrow on the die and follow that.

In the rulebook it says that the mumakil has to move full but is controlled by the good player when it stampedes but maybe those rules are out-dated now.

In SBG the opponent of the Mumakil-user decides.
In WoTR it is random.

Yep.

I always thought it was a bit stupid in SBG that the opposing player gets to choose which the direction the Mumak goes when it stampedes. It should be random like in WotR.

Thanks guys,

Yeah I actually have one of those scatter dice and wanted to use those, but I wasn't really sure about it so I thought I'd ask.:)

You just think it's stupid because you're the player with the mumakil. lol

GW makes a cube of dice and inside of the cube theres a "scatter die". its a die that has 4 arrows on it and 2 bullseyes but on the bullseyees there is a small arrow pointing as well. thats what my gaming group uses and it seems to work perfectly fine

The WotR FAQ states you just have to figure out some way with your opponent, so the scatter die is your best bet, particularly so since you have one, lol :P
