why is he starting at such a high pt level, its much easier to decide what to get is you work your way up to it

anyway,
there is a model limit, at 500-1000pts you can only get up to 75 models.... and durburz is 60pts

you dont need 4 captians, instead trade out 1-2 for shamans (they are 45pts)

also get a drum (100pts)

2 trolls is good, but dont get the spear or chain upgrade (you can get 3 but that would make less room for other things)

1-2 bat swarms is good

you have the right idea with lots of goblins, but dont forget about prowlers. THEY ARE AMAZING and if you can surround a transfixed hero with them then hes as good as dead. so make sure you get prowlers (some with 2h and some with bows), around 15-30 of them

almost all armies at this pt level need a ring wraith, so get 1 (prefably named), if not named then get it at full strength

did you mean warg riders or just wargs? both would be a good option but getting both is expensive (cause they are from different lists)
so you could ally in isengard raiders for riders (then you get a good hero to lead them) or dolgul dur for wargs (lead by a spider queen or a warg chieften). i like to get wargs, cause then you also have access to other stuff like the spider queen and giant spiders (the spider queen is one of the best combat heros)

so that is a good ouline for an army. as i suggested earlier, you shouldnt start an army at 1000pts, you really should start at 300-500pts

I agree. Also, Goblins tend to be good at small games.
