Would you take a banner in a 400 points dwarf force?

Yes, you need the re-rolls as you don't have access to spears.

I always find the re-roll very useful.

Depends who you're up against, but I always do. As has been mentioned, the lack of spear support makes it essential for a chance to win fights when you're 1 vs 2 rolls.

Ye i tought so too but i play vs the dead and so i have superior fight of 4 vs 3 and furthermore they don't have spears. So in this case maybe it would be better to improve quantity.

But they could get allies... but well in such low points Dead probably wont...

instead of a banner take a horn, as Dead cause Terror, you are going to need that +1 courage boost... and it only cost 20 pts, so it isn´t such a huge investment...

banners are a must for dwarves (well, there are incriedably helpful) and the horn vs the dead is super good

so get both

Fighting the Dead may be the one time wherer a banner is not that useful, as you have numbers and fight value, and niether side has spears. However, think of a hornblower aswell as it will also help tenfold; I'm not really sure which is best.

no think about it, if neither side has spears, then having the banner bonus gives you a huge advantage over ur opponent

But it also eats up a lot of points in such small numbered games...

As already mentioned a Horn Blower would be useful against the Army of the Dead. Also, consider some Iron Guard. I know lots of Dwarf players ramble on about them, but they are really useful to make up for your lack of spears and could give you a good advantage against the Dead's single attacks. 8)

The thing is i really hate the models and havent an idea on how to convert them yet... Iam more with the Khâzad guard in ways of design and playing.

i play with dwarfs in 400pt battles and i do!! keep him near heros like gimli and iron guard or khazad guard. then if by chance they beat you use re roll.e.g. if they got five you got 1,2,3 reroll 6 get 3 attacks with gimli own anyone :D

remember this only matters in draws so they can still easily win. i wouldent put in any archers because of their defence 8(6 then 5 to kill) maybe alot of rangers. 3 dwarfs on 1 should get you the result and gimli to take on his hero.
