Why does Saruman have Epic Challenge? With only a fight of 4, he isn't someone I'd want in a heroic fight. Wouldn't Lurtz have been a much choice for this ability? Has anyone had any use for Saruman's Epic Challenge?

Theme wise probably. He's aggressive, egotistical and with an attitude, so why not? And to totally have fun with it, have him Epic Challenge Gandalf! 8)

Likely to make people waste Might points. It states that you must use Might points to try and get there and he has the ability to stall charges on a 4+, so if they roll a 3, they must use Might etc... Plus, it can get units into combat that have been trying to avoid it.

Those are just a few guesses as to uses for it...

Good point on the Might burn. I didn't think of that trick. If you have him in a tough Formation and you give a challenge to a relatively weak Hero ( generic magic user or such) then it may work out well. But it's still a big risk that the Challenge may go off and you roll a 1 and your foe rolls a 6. Better see what spells or actions (Lurt'z Assassin Shot) can help even things out too...

I agree with Beowulf, it's theme-wise. Lots of Heroes in WotR have Epic Actions that aren't very good but fit in with the books/films.
